You should take a look at the BTZS developing tubes for 4x5. They are easy to use and give even development.
Thanks, I asked them to put me on a waiting list and they haven't called. I'll try calling them tomorrow although I would rather buy them used. (hint to anyone who has two for sale)
A few months ago I asked if anyone had 8x10 BTZS developing tubes for sale. I bo ught two from someone on the list. I now think I need two more. Anybody have a s et they'd like to sell? Jeff
Ed, This is a non technical answer. I too use a 35mm on my 35mm camera. But I take very different pictures with my 4x5. There is even a difference for me between 4x5 and 8x10. I really don't think...
Ed, I recently bought a Cambo SC? 4 8x10 with a 4x5 and a 5x7 back as well as the 8x10 back. It is a very simple device and works well for me. It is well made but quite heavy. Mine is about 20...
Armin, thanks for the info. I found Rodenstock's specs for the lens and it seems that at infinity at f/22 I can cover 8x10 but with the minimum movements you mentioned. That is my least likely...
I am looking to buy a 210mm lens with a 316mm image circles at f/22 (Rodenstock APO-Sironar-S 210mm f/5,6). I am new to 8x10 but not to large format, I use a 4x 5. I understand that I need 325mm just...
Think about the definition of f stop. it's a ratio of the diamenter of the aperture to the focal length of the lens. f32 on a 400 mm lens is a bigger hole than f 32 on a 35 mm lens. The size of the...
John, I thought of it but it seems the least attractive. The paper is a bit stiff until it gets wet and I'm not sure if I can get even development. The Nova slot processor has mixed reviews and is ...
I'm looking for a way to make 16x20 prints in my tiny, tiny darkroom. I think th at a 16x20 print developing drum might be the answer. If anyone has one for sale please let me know.
Thank you to everyone who provided me information. My question has been answered.
Can anyone tell me the external dimensions of a Graflex lens board? If there are more than one size, perhaps telling me the size of each would be best. My speci fic need is to know whether they are...
I'm very new to 8x10, but have a lot of 4x5 experience. I bought the Lisco Regal holders with the Rhino-Lite unbreakable slide. Very new means I just developed my second 8x10 negative but my...
After a year I have my wife sew a big X on the cloth and buy a new one. I use the X'ed clothes for general dusting aroung the darkroom and the fresh one my darkroom equipment.
I sometimes have a similar problem when my wash water is too cold. I use a fix tester frequently to make sure my fix is still good. Even if it stll tests good I discard it after using three TMax-RS...
I use Patterson tanks to develop roll film and I presoak (TMX, TMY, p3200) because I believe that the replacement of the water in the emulsion by the developer is slowed down enough to make up for...
If by the lower part of the negative you mean the area away from the code notches I would suspect you may be fogging the film when you replace the darkslide in the holder. If you insert it at an...
I have been using CD cases for my 4x4 filters and they work well.
Stephen I use a clothes iron with limited success. It is really hard to get everything flat. If I don't clean the iron surface each time I use it I get marks on the print. I use release paper...
Does anyone know if BTZS makes tube for 8x10. The Darkroom Innovations site is n ot clear. They list an 8x10 size but have NA in the price column. I'm not sure i f that means they stopped making...
This item is on ebay: Lisco 8 x 10 Sheet Film Holders Nice Pair! Item # 1309608977 They are advertized as the $198.00 film holders that B&H sells but the listing d oesn't mention the Rhino Lite...
Don, It's just like any view camera but I had a question about the silver bar on the rear standard. I'm assumming it is a bellows support for when you are fully extended, otherwise it's all pretty...
I just bought a Cambo 8x10 SCX on ebay. It came with no lens boards and 4x4 and 5x7 reducing backs. The reducing backs are obviously the same design as the 8x10 back but are just enough thicker that...
I use a Radio Shack talking timer. It announces minutes on the way down, ten second intervals in the last minute, one second intervals for the last 10 seconds, and minutes of time over. My process...
Ansel Adams published one. A copy of it was up on ebay within the last few days.
John, I use a Fuji GSW690. It is a great lens attached to an essentially free body. They come in 6x7 and 6x9 with several different lenses. The 6x9 image is not realy much smaller than 4x5. These...
Up until a few weeks ago I had a friend that was also deeply involved in LF. We frequently went on shoots together and compared work, technique, and discussed o ther photographic issues. He recently...
