There's a guy near me that keeps posting one on CL. Wants $1000 for it.
Hi Tandori
Welcome to the forum.
Does this happen to all your LF negatives, including B&W?
Have you checked your camera for light leaks?
Is your film fresh?
Can you describe more about...
Hi Glebe
Not sure why this hasn't been answered yet.
I don't have a Linhof, but if the camera is designed to have a movement then it should lock down and "stick" where you put it. That's...
I, too, recently opened an old box labeled "Darkroom." Untouched for years.
Found in it, all brand new: Saunders 14x17" easel and 3 11x14 trays.
Very nice!
Ah yes, with you now.
Wasn't thinking photoshop but rather darkroom.
Thanks.
I've spent most of my life in front of a computer; kinda hate that photography has put me right back there.
Are you looking to print digital files or from a negative/trans?
Curious as to how you got the neg/pos to come out like this.
Wow! Those eyes.
Very nice high key shot.
I use photobackpacker cases. But the walmart lunch box idea sounds interesting.
Instagram...isn't that one of those annual medical diagnostics for women? (no offense intended) :)
I have an Instagram account, like my facebook account, primarily for getting freebies and...
I use a 19qt Rubbermaid storage container with a 125w submersible aquarium heater. Works great. Total cost: ~$30.00
Who says you have to retire to just one place?
Maybe if you pre-exposed with some mustard...
Your paper storage area is larger than my darkroom - lol
I've never been able to get them to give any specific information about any given item. Sales and warehouse might as well be on different continents. I've also never ordered from them as I always...
My thoughts exactly.
I hear ya; I've had to fight off a few tenacious LFers at times too :)
Thanks Ken.
I think this is a great "get your toes wet" approach that gets a beginner in the ballpark quickly.
Chemistry is the cheapest part of the process.
Too little developer == possibly poor negatives. Too much developer == no adverse affect.
Why possibly risk bad negatives to save $.05 of...
Since the Mod54 uses the Paterson tank; if you do, or would want to do, 35mm or 120mm, you just need to add a couple of reels and you're multiformat.
Babak,
Are you going to scan or wet print for the final images?
I find that scanning is more forgiving on exposure variants.
Ken Lee used to have a great web page for doing a test run, but he...
Koraks, I hear ya on the lazy part. Lately, I've gotten so that I only develop the blacks. Too tired to do the whites.
Will try taking a stick to it.
Maybe we can get something going after the new year...
I love mine.
Loading it did take some practice. But once you get used to the feel, it's easy to load the sheets securely.
Are you guys still active?
Tim Rudman's The Photographer's Master Printing Course is an excellent introduction text.
Another one that is a next step would be Looten's on Photographic Enlarging and Print Quality.
Printing...
What have you been using to measure exposure for your LF work?
Go measure some scenes with that and your DSLR and compare.
Then you'll have a baseline for the DSLR that should be pretty close...
Yea, he does want a folding camera.
Sounds like going with the adapter is the best path for the most versatility.
All of which confirms what I was seeing, or rather not seeing, as I read about...
Yup, I bungled this one.
Looking for 4x5.
Doing landscape with the occasional architecture shot.
I'm looking to stop hauling this studio camera around, so anything will seems compact and...
Hi
I'm thinking about getting a field camera.
Currently am using a Sinar F1, so I was wondering which ones would use the Sinar lens board.
Suggestions welcome.
Thanks!
How about using pipe cleaners? (ala for tobacco pipes)
Thanks Jason, on both suggestions.
Definitely going to check out the "Instant Mytol"
Looking to start mixing my own solutions.
I have a formula that requires Sodium Ascorbate.
Where is a good place to source this?
Stoog
Thanks Joseph.
Glad to hear that the Sinar fits in the P1.
The website indicates that the P2 is out of stock and he's not sure when(if) it'll be back.
I have a Sinar F1 and have been looking...
Joseph,
Do you have the modified Redwing P1 or P2?
Stoog
I'm using MF in the 4x5 to facilitate my transition to using the LF camera.
Cheaper film for the learning curve and I'm set up to process 120 film but not yet 4x5s.
Though I plan to remedy that in...
Definitely favor the early morning or evening. Or even a day with some light fog.
As for other vantage points and POV, I'd need to see what the other views provide.
I do prefer the reformatted...
I agree on with the above....what you propose is likely a lease violation and don't alter the walls.
Porters has some materials for making light tight things. A cloth and a static cling.
Here's...
