Can a Graflex rollfilm back be used or easily adapted to work on a Linhof Tech III? Right now the Linhof back is a bit spendy for me.
I've developed 35mm HP5+ in HC110 using stand development. Has anyone tried doing 4x5's this way. Part of me says if it works in 35 it should be OK, but there's still a doubt. Thanks for any input.
Thanks, Bob. Any idea how I get the rotating part of the back off?
I have a 1942, or so, vintage Tech III mod 1. Works great but unfortunately, the back takes only Linhof 13x18, single-sheet filmholders. 13x18 is expensive & I could only find 5 of the filmholders,...
Thanks, Bob. If I can remove the rotating back, I can drill & countersink holes to take the screws that hold the non-rotating section to the adjustable posts thru the B&J back & I'll have a back...
Might be. I'm not sure.
Does any one know how to remove the rotating back on one of these? I can see some discs (?) with screws in them when I rotate it, but didn't want to try until I knew. You can't pull the posts out...
Did Linhof ever make an 8x10 Technkia? I know it would have weighed as much as a Tiger tank, but it would be interesting to see.
I'm in Portland, OR so there should be some around here. If I paid anywhere near 15K for any camera piece, I'd be living in my new darkroom for a looooong time!
I'm finally able to build a dedicated darkroom on our new house. I have a Beseler 23C II, but it will only do 35 & 120. I'd like to be able to handle 5x7, too. Is it too much to look for an...
Found some HP5+ 13x18 in a German site at a good price & bought a box. Now I'll just have to wait for it & take some shots. I'll keep everyone posted! Thanks for all the help.
Well, I bought them! Now, at least, I'll have something to work off of. Thanks everyone for your help.
Thanks so much! Now I know what they look like. Maybe I'll try to get them, at lease I'll have a base to start from. Thanks again!
Thanks, but tried them & camera has a thin, L- shaped channel the filmholders slide into. The larger opening is about 1/2" narrower than a standard filmholder. I tried milling a rabbit into a...
I just bought a Linhof Technika 5x7 (I think it's a III) that takes single-sided filmholders. Any ideas on how to make some since nobody seems to know where I can get a few. The camera is in...
OK, since nobody seems to know anything about my Technika, how about the filmholders? I was told it takes single-sided filmholders. The dealer was unsure about if they were 5x7 or 13x18. I can't...
Does anybody know where I can get info on a 1942-42 5x7 Tech II? I got one in a trade & neither Bob nor Linhof can provide me any info. Specifically, I need to know if the back is temovable (& how)...
Hi, Bob! Thanks for your dedicated help to all of us! Here's another one - marked "DRP" on back w/serial #222132. BTW, it's a 5x7. Any idea if the back on this thing rotates & how? It seems to be...
Very cool. I like the design! It's a bit spendy, but considering their equipment costs, I can see it. Could this be expanded for 5x7?
I just made a trade for an old model Technika in 5x7. The owner said it used one-sided filmholders only & he couldn't find any. Can it be converted to use 2-sided holders? If not, where can I find...
It seems as though the rotary mechanism is a simply roller drive with a timed reverser. Not too difficult to fabricate using surplus computer electronics, nylon for bearings, & some plywood for the...
I have three questions about Jobo processors: are the tanks available to handle 5x7, is the rotation speed constant for all developers or does it change, & finally, what is the speed if it is...
Has anyone used any of the Industar lenses? I've seeen 180, 210, 300, 360, & 600mm lenses advertised at really good prices. All are without shutters, but still at around $70.00 apiece they seem...
Has anyone built either a set of tubes or some kind of enclosed tank to process 8x10? I don't have a darkroom or access to one so I need something that can be loaded in a darkbag & then processed in...
I've got one of these & while it barely covers 5x7 @ f22 & above, I was wondering what I would have if I removed the rear element? More coverage, less, different focal length, or what? Thanks for...
I thought about that, but can't bring myself to want to pack both 5x7 & 4x5 holders. That makes for a big load if you're going any distance. My Seneca is one of the few I've seen that is black...
Thanks, I might give it a try.
Thanks for the help. Since I don't have a darkroom & only use a darkbag, cutting film down isn't really practical for me. I asked a couple of commercial labs & they said they weren't comfortable...
Does anyone know if there is any color film available in 5x7 other than Porta? I've really gotten to like Ektar, but can't find any in 5x7. I'm almost thinking of getting rid of my Seneca & going...
Thanks, Dan. I'm in the process of tracking down some 8x10 & I'll get back to you soon. Thanks again.
Does anyone know where I can get 5x7 Extar or another color print film in a small lot (10 or so sheets)? The only thing I can find is a $400.00 box of Porta 160 & I don't like Porta's color...
Check out Black Jacket. They make a dark cloth that can be used as a jacket. It has elastic to fit around the camera & a silver side or a white side. I absolutely love mine.
I'm going to start processing 5x7 using the taco method. I'm curious about any advice about changes in agitation or best developers. I'd like to use D-76 or HC-110, but am open to suggestions. I'm...
I've run out of empty boxes! If anyone has any, I'll, pay $2.00/box + postage. I'd like to get 10 or so. Thanks.
Bruce
The 210 is what the camera came with. Dagors would be nice, but $$$$$ It's a Seneca City View (so marked), but the real standard differs from any shown & it's ebonized oak (I think) with nickel...
I've asked before, but have had differing input so I'll ask again - using a 5x7 w/22" of bellows extension (it's a Seneca City View), Im interested in mostly landscapes, but will probably do some...
Anybody know how to find out what the widest lens you can use on a 5x7 camera? I've got a Seneca with around 22" of extension is, but don't know how to find out if an 85mm wide will work. Thanks...
I imagine this has already been covered, but I'll ask it again. I've been offered a Gundlich Turner-Reich Astigmatic 13"/21"/28" lens at a REALLY good price, I think ($100.00). How does this lens...
Will definitely drop in. I'm very excited to see your work.
