A couple of labs in DFW do 4x5, but no one lists 8x10. As long as you have to deal with mail, why not out of state? Ilford?

A garden hose will get water into your box, then what? Drains? Holding tanks ? Sewer?
So would I.
Go to Iceland’s West Fjords in the summer. There will be waterfalls. There will be rain. Both can create rainbows. Enjoy.
I had a cheap (Harbor Freight) compressor at my old darkroom. It was on another floor and piped in by a 50 ft. hose. Had the necessary filters and nozzle, and I had it set to 40 lbs. Worked great....
Get a proper tripod. Right tool for the job and will save you a lot of frustration.
I've had a Versalab 11x14 print washer for years. Now, I can't seem to get the siphon started. Is there a trick?
I like the Versalab. No need to recommend buying a different brand (the one you own...
"Yankee Instant Film Dryer"
used a lot of it!

My next full day darkroom workshop in Dallas, February 18th!
B&H Foto (sic) and Electronics is no longer primarily a photo supply company. One look at their print catalog makes it patently obvious. The catalog looks like an old Sears catalog in size and fine...
Sunday (11/13), I taught the first beginner darkroom workshop at the Dallas Center for Photography. We had a great time in spite of the darkroom not being complete. We worked very hard for two days...
These classes are now open for registration.
The Dallas Center for Photography is a local teaching facility that evolved out of a working commercial studio. Several years ago, the owner/photographer (DCP director Peter Poulides) started...
This is for a workshop, where once the people leave, they're gone. Some may well have come in from out of town, and coming back the next day is not an option. Taking time for fully drying the...
How do folks who use school and/or community darkrooms handle taking wet prints home? This is assuming there is not time to let the prints dry before you remove them from the facility. This is for a...
This event has been postponed. I will post a new thread when re-scheduled.
North Texas Film and Darkroom. Get together: Wednesday, August 22 @ 7:00. Location is the Dallas Center for Photography at 4756 Algiers St, Dallas, TX 75207.
This is to be informal, mostly to meet...
"Like" :)
Not ludicrous at all. Due to other commitments, that's probably the earliest I'll be able to get back up there.
Correlation does not equal causation.
One is not a viable sample.
Etc.
No.
I was searching the interwebs last week for pictures of darkrooms to use in a class I will teaching soon. I could hardly find one that didn't have multiple enlargers!

It depends on what print service is available to you. I would prefer to print myself, but I have a source that will make my prints for less than I can buy the paper and ink! As long as their prints...
Not to scoop Randy, but I am one of the "others" he mentions. It's the red one. I have tested it with Ilford Multigrade paper (using the Kodak method) and it tested "safe" to 10 minutes. It may...
I've switched out all white lights in my darkroom to led, mainly to stop the heat generation (I'm in Texas). My filtered safelights are all still incandescent, but they are, of course, such low...
Neither does DFW, as far as I know. I expect Holland maintains their viability with mail order, not just folks in Austin.
I've been to Weston's Wildcat Hill. One whole wall of that minimalist cabin he built was cabinets for print storage.
Commercial and homemade:
I'm acquainted with Mark Rogers, who owns Frame Destination, here in Dallas. He told me years ago that he formed the company in digital's infancy, because he could not source 13x19 frames.
There is a large format community in DFW but they're not that active socially. If you're on FB, look for the North Texas Film and Darkroom group.
I've used that method several times. Although not for darkroom equipment. I think the last time was to get a 95 pound 32" tube TV into a cabinet ...
Excellent idea. Only wish I could come. I'll be leaving for Big Bend on the 15th!
However, I do plan on stopping by the museum on Friday (the 13th!!) on my way back from Kilgore.
Kodak's Polymax T will substitute nicely for Dektol, as will Ilford's PQ and Multigrade. All three mix 1:9 from concentrate.
Bob: that was a river boat ride ...
San Antonio is about my favorite place, certainly in Texas. Wife and I moved away from there 26 years ago with the full intention of going back after...
Fire ants!
Welcome. There is a DFW large format group, although they have fallen into a bit of a slump as far as getting together lately. However, there are some folks, and a group does get together...
