I really like mine. I try and use it at least once a week. A solid, simple enlarger that looks great to boot.

Zsolt, I've tried KBR and TAF-1 (a product from Photographer's Formulary) and now I'm using the Moersch stuff. All of them work. I just found my development times getting longer than I like with KBr...
Acquire some Moersch Restrainer Neutral. 5ml in a liter works for me with age fogged paper. It comes in a 100ml bottle. Very easy solution for you. It's also cheap given what it does, only about 6...
Citizens. They've done E-6 for me and did it well.

There you go. Sounds like a good solution. I suppose one could also use a folding screen from a TLR that has a built in magnifier as well if they hold together off of the camera? The reason I like...
Keep an eye out for a Ihagee folding cardboard chimney magnifier. it comes in a little slip case and fits in your pocket. it's spring loaded so pops open easily. There is a built in magnifier. You...
Try contacting a local restaurant kitchen fabricator. They make custom SS sinks and counters all day.
I really like the Portriga. I have some fogged Zone VI Brilliant I'm going to try the next session. Have fun. it's kinda cool how fog has no apparent bearing on the results.
Greg
Spent the day today in the darkroom lithing with success, 1940s Dupont Defender with a super rough surface and Portriga Rapid. Easy Lith. Surprisingly they both expose and develop at the same rate...
Have you tried Bromoil before? Matte paper is essential for that process to work.
black electric tape and or liquid electric tape.
Here's the insides. BTW the hole I assumed for oiling would place the oil near the base of the spring case which would direct it toward the pivot.

So out of curiosity, now that I know I have a replacement. I opened mine up. Inside is a container, like a dish with a large coiled spring inside. The tape which is attached to the enlarger is...
Thanks Jim. Yep this is what mine looks like too. I found an exact replacement on ebay. Also found the company appears to still make them. They are expensive however. They are originally made for...
I think I'm going to put on my leather welding gloves and pop it open and see what I find. If I can't repair it, I have a couple little stainless mini pulleys that will go into the ceiling and wall...
Thanks for the help. I'll see about contacting Steve Simmons. One way or another I'll get this taken care of. PS my darkroom is too small to work sideways, tho a clever suggestion.
I've mentioned this before elsewhere, but I have just finished a bottle of Rodinal with a neat red bakelite cap and rubber cork that was as old as the hills, all of the films mentioned on the box...
Thanks Randy, Yeah, that's what I'm worried about, the edges are pretty sharp. Do you have Rube's email? ; ) I think I'll go with a length of cord and a heavy weight. The enlarger has a good...
My Elwood 5 x 7 counter balance reel tape zipped inside the housing, I guess the rivet failed holding the d-ring as the ring went flying as it rolled up. Has anyone opened one of these up? My concern...
Another option. I noticed another poster in a different thread mentioned one of these. So I got one. Works great. Cheap as well. A used surplus laboratory tempering bath. 17.50 plus shipping on ebay....
I may get some kick back for this, but if you can get Photographer's Formulary stuff in Europe for a reasonable price, their version of Kodak D-19 might be a way to go. It is very long lasting. It...
A small accessory rangefinder can save exasperation, they can be had for very little considering how much film they'll save you. I use a Prazisa with my Novar lensed Ikonta 521.
I can't seem to edit this post, I've mis-spelled Bergger. Which effected my search results but only slightly, I see they made a specific Bromoil paper but find no info re this specific paper's...
Got a pack of 20x24 Berger Prestige Matt and hoping i can use it for Bromoil. Anyone have any experience using this paper for Bromoil? How did it do? I would rather not waste a sheet testing if i...
Today we are all grasshoppers : ) I'll give 80 asa a go and go at it one step at a time. It claims very fine grain and sharpness on the box. We'll see.
Thanks Rick, This stuff is from the 1950s or early 60s by the box graphics, So, something else, that one's a t-grain. The ad i found online touts it's ability to x-ray copper bolts.
Any guesses to what asa i should rate some ancient 8x10 Type M Kodak xray film I just got. A quick coin and flash the lights test shows only very very minor fogging which might be the base tint ?...
re discussion of others having higher shipping costs. Don't see it mentioned in the thread but Photographer's Formulary is having a free shipping deal at the moment. Order 65 bucks worth of stuff and...
The new "Classic" paper.
I've had luck with Slavich Unibrom matte 160 BP from B&H and also Ilford MGFB , this one is from a workshop i did with Joy Goldkind at Penumbra on Ilford.

Wow, that was a happy accident. bracan.
The rodinal has worked for me in the past. Also PMK 1:2:50 works nicely. 7 minutes at 72º.

Dahlia.
Crop of a 5x7 negative. Cell phone pic of a wet print on expired unknown matte double weight fiber paper.
FP4 PMK Kodak 33a Verito 7 3/4" wide open.
I was happy with the results i got with PMK using the times on the box ( i use 1:2:50 so 3/5ths time actually) and shooting at box speed.
Heroique,
I'm fascinated by the way the eruption changed the landscape there. I shot the area about 18 years ago in stereo and again last summer with my 5 x 7, Here is a shot of one of those trees...
Great, They were very quick, I had scans in a matter of a couple days via email link-they shipped them back quickly too. Carefully packed. I've used them twice now and am preparing another batch.
Thanks, I might have to give shooting it at 400 a try. I usually go the other way and shoot at 50 and develop in PMK 1:2:50. Also in 9 x 12 btw with an Bergheil.
The lowes near me sells a little pack of brass cap screws that are just the right size. Think it was less than 2 bucks. Made by Hilman. #2 x 1/4" or #2 x 3/8" seem to do the trick. A dozen in the...
I've used TD-3. I was very happy with the results.
Thanks Steve, I got a recommendation from Blue Moon to try Citizens Photo in Portland and they will do it. Sending it off now. Fingers crossed!
