My 8x10 legend has just been sitting. I'd like to actually use it, though. However, the focusing area seems to be missing something... it has a plastic type of ground glass with markings on it, but...

I'm not sure which section of the forum is the best place to put this, but I just found out that Canon Explorers of Light will be bringing in Alex Buono (SNL photog for last nine seasons) to be the...
Yeah, I thought I spotted some 8x10 wooden film holders in one pic. I'm not so interested in 5x7, but I do have 4x5 and 8x10 cameras that could use more accessories and lenses! We'll see... I might...

I've had friends lose their domain names to unsavory folks before. Just be glad it is being used as an SEO farm and not a porn site!
Fashion photography is its own beast, and I doubt too many LF shooters dabble in it.
Some of the last of my type 55 film...
If you are trying to make a fine art nude image, I can maybe see where you are coming from, but that's why you would use a professional model. However, I love seeing how an average, everyday person...
I still have a box and a half of 4x5 type 55, and it is definitely my favorite 4x5 film! I saw a case at a recent studio closing sale priced at $200 per box!!! People just love that stuff...
I never knew about that site. thanks!
I am about to figure up and pay my state sales tax.
I photographed him at an event once. The police were surrounding the place like it was fort knox!
To the OP: I like this photo - http://nps160.tumblr.com/day/2011/12/30
I know everyone weighed in on their thoughts. Mine: pen names are for authors, not photographers. stage names are for porn actors, not photographers.
What is defiant about starting with b&w film? That's where most film companies started.
and FYI: the only way to make this thing marketable is to:
a - make it the best film ever.
b - make...
Wow! What a turnout!!!!! The place was packed...
I'm Dallas chapter president, and I thought his program sounded like a perfect fit for us. I hope it is well-attended!

You can get a lot more for your $$$ in 4x5" and you can get a huge scan from it! 60" scan? Not quite sure, but I've easily done 36" print scans from it. I bet you could push it to 60" with minimal...
Oh, I've read the threads before. I know they have their quirks, but are decent cameras for the money. I guess I was just looking for some general guidance... what would you do if you have about...
I figured that's what you meant. I don't know much about it, but would like to.
That's fine. I've finally got the money for 11x14 and I've been wanting to take on the challenge for a long time. I have one holder so far, but that's as far as I've made it towards my crazy...
It doesn't matter... he just received a higher offer from someone locally. I'll keep looking for a good 11x14, and will probably wind up with one a member here has for sale. As a matter of fact,...
That's a good point. You think I'd be safer offering the paypal plan or having someone we know from the forum picking it up? I'd never had such an expensive thing sent from another country before. ...
I'm in Dallas, TX. A guy will hook me up with an 11x14 Deardorff for 1000 GBP, but only if I do cash or money order to avoid paypal fees. That's why I want to send the cash to someone I can trust a...
Anyone near Newcastle in the UK? I need someone who can pick up an old camera for me. I'll pay for the camera, shipping and whatever you feel your time is worth. I just don't want to hand over...
Just wondering... what guitars are you looking at?
Sorry about the loss.
And the Getty guy walks around like he's king at all the concerts/festivals I shoot.
I can't help on this one. I don't really sell my prints to the general public. I make my money selling rights/usage to magazines, newspapers and corporate clients. I try to avoid all the single...
It appears to be a euro term. I've never seen it used in Texas, and I used to assist at several photo studios that did catalog work. As others have mentioned, it appears to be tabletop knock-outs...
I'm sure someone has answered this in the three pages of comments, but I just wanted to clarify: The big advantage of using the "save for web" feature in Photoshop, is it allows you to make a very...
regardless of the steps it will take you to get it up and running, you are lucky! It will be a very rewarding project, for sure!!!
Yeah, I bought some old Kodak Verichrome Pan Film 116, still in the boxes for display several years back. The box design looks pretty old, maybe 1950's or 1960's if I guessed, but they look great on...
Some of the last Type 55 I have... shot a couple weeks ago in my studio.
I know I'm a little late to the party, but I took this in August...
Seeing as how anything bigger than 11x14 is terribly hard to find, I'm assuming the answer will be "special runs only".
I have the 12x18" process camera that I'll be turning into a view camera with 11x14" and 8x10" backs. I now have (thanks to ebay) a single 8x10" and single 11x14" film holder/cassette.
Next up...
Regardless of price, it is very cute!
