    Washington DC area LF users?

I'm still low on the LF learning curve, but I will be relocating to Columbia, MD in a couple weeks. I'd be happy to head out with people for an excursion, or two.

"Not to worry - The contents of the CD is only a combination of 1's and 0's. Nothing artistic there."

But CDs are written and read with light, so does that make them photographs and, thus, doubly...

Travel to New Zealand in May

I'll add another voice for the southern island. I'd love to have another trip there as the entire place was absolutely gorgeous.

    "One way mirror filter"

If you don't like the mirror beside the camera option, you might try and find a glass cutter to put a hole in a regular mirror. Set the mirror in front of the camera and shoot through the hole. I've...

I've had good luck, so far, using a 5lb monorail (calumet cadet) on a bogen/manfrotto 3021 legset and ball-head with quick release (352QR, though they now call it the 484RC2). I haven't had any...
  11. Source for closed-cell foam for custom backpack

Look for a fabric store like JoAnn Fabrics. That's where I got the padding for my backpack. They're a chain store and I would assume that there is one in the NYC area, as I run into them EVERYWHERE...

    Batch printing and consistency

One method that always worked for me was to tape record myself describing the steps I was going through. Subsequent prints were made while listening to my 'script'. Gives you both timing information...
  13. sticky plastic sheets for home made grids

Frisk film (often called frisket film and typically found with airbrush supplies at your local art supply store) will work with little residue, but only if removed relatively quickly. The adhesive...
