their only color film in 120 will be 400H? wow.
I actually went down to the harbor/ cstreet pier yesterday to shoot a little bit and it was gorgeous for it. only had the MF but kind of wanted the LF for the harbor/rivermouth area. lots of clouds...
Ah, got it. Thank you Kirk.
It seems like a lot of people are recommending Chicago Institute of Art. I am going through the process of looking at art schools and just got in touch with Seattle I of A. Not to ask a question that...
got rid of gear last year. Sold a HEAP of digital junk and switched back to film.
to hang out with my family, I got it.
I also got a bunch of film, which was really really cool.
yeah I do it but it is pretty rough.
Go into pro mode, configuration, then turn off any color correction. This will get it to recognize each half of the sheet of film you scan as the same color...
ha i live right up the road from you!
how'd your photo turn out?
I will check out reinstalling the drivers for this thing.
The reason it is an underexposed shot is because the entire photo is like that save for a small amount of proper light on the subject's...
Naw it's running on Color Neg, not reflective. Good call though thanks for the alternative. I don't know if it's the bulb or what. I think it maybe an excuse to start saving for a v700 though.
I...
Oh good! It's just about 1 year old this month. :(
Epson 4490 @ 800dpi, laying the neg directly on the glass. Gamma @ 2.1, scanning to Adobe RGB without color correction in the scanner.

i'll have to save up but it would be cool to even just go see.
if the impossible project makes 4x5 film I'd be happy that's for sure.
How does the Fuji stuff compare to the polaroid?
Coming into the LF game way too late (about 6 months ago), I have no idea what it was like using this stuff. I've used it in a 600se before and I really like the results 690 and 669 gave me but I can...
I tried to go over to Fuji for the same reason but it just wasn't happening for me. Portra is tops.
k why won't it let me delete the thread.
did that fix it?
It looks to me like the box might've had it's outer cover opened in subdued light. There are light leaks in almost every frame I shot from this box and my holders have never had leaks before. Along...
not at all, I love the look. Definitely inspiring me to try this.
damn those look so good.
oh yeah and all the guys who spent 8 large on the last 1ds are about to easily have their "investment" halved by the new 1d, I think. So yeah, digital is a joke. Film is great.
I had the full canon setup. 2 1D bodies, L lenses, flash, etc. bought it all and barely used it for 6 months. Sold it all and bought a 4x5 and LOVE it.
To address your question though if I had to...
did someone touch the bare bulb before the light was turned on?
given the silence on the subject I guess I am all set then.
Long story short: my high school photo teacher and I reconnected and I was told that I am welcome into the darkroom any time I want provided I pay a lab fee and have my own paper. I have a bunch of...
There is an entire movement devoted to cross processing C41 in BW chemicals. I believe the standard school of thought is leave it in for a long time and agitate normally and you MIGHT get something....
Am I the only one that thinks the subject matter is entirely appropriate for the effect the mistake made?
love this forum. thank you very much for the info.
sorry to bump this but I have a question that was brushed on but not really answered from this thread.
I have a pretty simple monorail 4x5 and am interested in the 178 2.5. However there is no...
unfortunately nothing worked. I am now looking for a new release mount for my Copal 1.
To add some clarification the shutter release was not 50 dollars. I made a mistake in claiming it to be so,...
jesus....
freestyle is about an hour away from me with traffic so....freestyle even if B&H is less expensive. I like the kids that work at freestyle.
I will try all of these soon, thanks everyone.
I guess my 50 dollar cable release really wasn't worth as much as I paid. I was shooting the other day and the release simply fell out. There was no unnatural twisting or turning or pressure on my...
Yeah that is why I kind of caught myself at the end there. I should get my head in it and get a 4x5 scanner before I start getting all freaked out over tone. Ben your photos are sick by the way.
I have a flatbed epson 4490. Scan with epson software in professional mode with no adjustments in that software other than sharpness, then taken into PS to spot.
On that note, most of the basis...
I do have a 35mm and that is a solid idea. I have noticed that 35mm doesn't look quite the same as it's larger format brethren though and that makes me a bit wary. Am I crazy? For example: 160nc in...
How do you try out a film that you think would be interesting without dropping 30-50 bones on a pack? I am interested in a few films but am not sure about my alternatives if I don't really like the...
