I will clarify my answer, then. The B+W filters imported into the United States have brass mounts and use Schott glass exclusively for the UV, warming and cooling, polarizer, neutral density, black...
Sorry to disappoint you, Bob, but B+W uses Schott glass and brass mounts too.
Schneider is fairly conservative with image circle specs, and it seems that you have discovered that this lens can cover a larger format than stated. At the 500mm focal length, you won't see much...
I'm working on getting all of our product literature up on the new website. Hopefully it will be there by next week.
It is possible, but you will have to be creative in order to keep the bed out of the shot. One way to do it would be to set up a vertical shot and then drop the bed out of the way.
You can also buy them direct from us for $70.

Barrel G-Claron lenses are a funny thing. A certain portion of them do not fit into shutters at all. If you are buying a G-Claron in a barrel, make sure you have a chance to see if it will fit into...
Center filters are designed to be used a certain distance from the lens. Even putting another filter in between the lens and the center filter will mess up the results you get. Putting the center...
Actually, the rear filter thread is 40.5mm. Just to make sure, I put a 40.5mm UV on the rear of an 80XL and it fits just fine. Our data sheet has the thread size listed as 41mm, but that's a typo.
The G-Claron lenses were always single coated, never multi coated.
I just realized that I made a mistake in calling the G-Claron a 4 element lens, but I see someone corrected me before I had a chance to correct myself. Funny how fast a thread will get responses...
G-Claron lenses were never multi coated and never will be. Its primary use is as a process lens (symmetrical 4 element lens, f/9, optimized for 1:1 magnification) and a single coating is all that...
An important point to remember is that you must use B+W EW filters on the front of Schneider XL lenses. A standard filter will come into contact with the front element of these lenses. A center...
The Hi-End Back is a vacuum back, so yes, they are the same thing. It would probably take you about 15 or 20 minutes of loading and reloading the same piece of film into the holder in order to...
The Schneider G-Claron, like other process lenses, is primarily designed for making images that are the same size as the subject, or 1:1 magnification. They are designed in a way that when used at...
In re-reading the question, I see that although the G-Claron covers 8x10, it doesn't actually have MORE coverage than the Fujinon lens.
The G-Claron 270 has a 335mm image circle, so it will cover 8x10.
The G-Claron 150 would work for 1:1 on an 8x10, but would start vignetting at 1:2. If you want to do 1:4 work at 8x10, you'll have to use the 210 G-Claron.
Actually, B+W does make 112m filters. We usually don't keep them in stock, so we would probably have to special order them, but they are possible to get. LEt me know what you're looking for and...
The Comparon is a now-discontinued line of 4-element enlarging lenses. The Componon-S 100 would be the replacement. It is a 6-element lens with much higher performance.
My suggestion would be to not remove the screw. It is there to fix the tightness problem you are having. Drill a small hole in the board for the screw, and once you fit the screw in the hole, the...
It sounds like it might just be the paint separating from the edge of the element too. Either way, if it's just on the edge, it won't affect the image. But, if you are worried about it spreading,...
