  1. Will Polaroid 545 or other instant film back fit into a Canham 4x5 Traditional?

Does anyone know if the Polaroid holder will clear the Canham 4x5 wood back?

    I own a Canham wood 4x5 / 5x7. I don't have a Polaroid holder, but if I recall correctly, they're a bit bulky at the...

Re: Plz help me choosing a 4x5 camera

It's a real shame you gave up on that system. What you had was great for both scenics and portraits, and you could have created some wonderful contact prints with the 5x7 format, which in my opinion...

Re: Newbie needs film developing advice

I think it's self-evident to most people familiar with BTZS but not necessarily to newcomers or people who have come from JOBO or other methods which have a pour-through system for chemistry that is...

Re: Newbie needs film developing advice

Not true. You must screw in the developer-filled cap in darkness. Also, I know that some people sink the BTZS tubes in stop bath with the lights on, but I think this is terrible technique.

    Re: Replacement tripod head

A Bogen 410 is a great head and it works well with light and moderate weight 4x5/5x7 setups. However, with the kind of weight you're talking about on an 8x10, I would suggest the Gitzo 1570. Not only...
  7. Re: Epson v700 and 5x7 film -- are people making their own custom holders?

    Sandy,

I haven't tried fluid mounting yet, although I know that many people swear by it.

What I'm trying to do here is explore whether or not there is a suitable glassless dry mounting method....
  8. Re: Epson v700 and 5x7 film -- are people making their own custom holders?

I am using glass from Focal Point. When I lay the glass flat on the scanner bed I get newton rings galore. The only success I've had removing the newton rings was to raise the ANR glass (with taped...
  9. Epson v700 and 5x7 film -- are people making their own custom holders?

    Hello everyone.

I'm a 4x5 and 5x7 shooter. I recently purchased an Epson v700, and lately I've been trying to settle into a 5x7 scanning workflow.

I'd like to solve dry mounting first before...

    Re: 5x7 color film

I don't know if you're considering an ISO >160 speed run, but if so then I would be interested.
