Is there some way to determine the model of the bag mag, so I can get one for a Super D?
Is there are strong consensus on which of these to get? I recently picked up a Super D and need some holders that fit the slot, or one of the Graflex magazines.
I was also wondering if there are...
You could probably use mineral oil as a float, but it would invite problems.
I like the idea of using marbles to fill up the void space. Very clean.
I am a fan of the Pentax 5.5x lupe for looking at negatives. It's too big for practical ground glass use.
I have a few books. Some of the Schirmer/Mosel editions are well printed, but I haven't seen one printed like you hope. Maybe an exhibition catalog has been done to that level.
Yes. I have a handful of these. They are a great product.
D.
I had a look at the older threads and there is commentary on equipment and supplies no longer around. I was wondering what the current best practices are. I am thankfully living in an area of...
This appears to be his resume from a gallery that represents him.

If you are interested in a camera obscura, these folks have a product to help out. (no affiliation other than I bought one).

Tiffen also made a black and white viewing filter. It was round and not useful from framing, but otherwise was similar to the Wratten 90.
Thanks. It's better than what I have (nothing).
Cheers,
Doug
I found reference to a manual for Wisner Technical Field cameras while searching the forum. Sadly, the link is no longer active. Does anyone have the pdf and could share it, please?

I have one and don't find myself using the tilting base. I like the size and the magnification.
Definitiely Hypo Clear/Permawash/Washaid/etc. Reduces washing time greatly. On the order of 50%
You should be able to bring the film on board the plane and the carry on scanners are generally safe for ISO 400 and lower. The checked luggage scanners (that scan the luggage going into the hold)...
I echo the call for some humidity in the drying cabinet. A pan filled with water (with a screen over it, so if film falls, it doesn't fall in), or even try misting the interior of the cabinet just...
Anna Atkins was one of the earliest female photographers that I am aware of.

In English, there are some books by Henry Horenstein that are very good starter books: "Basic Photography" as well as "Beyond Basic Photography". They provide a good starting point for...
Astoria is west of Portland (couple hours drive, I think (someone can correct me)). It has a lot of character is a jumping off point to see the west coast.
Just calibrated mine. No significant modifications. A little colour on the distance scale. Voigtlander viewfinder and a Blik. Looking forward to some fun with this kit.

I just received a tracking number. That's a good sign.
Yeah. I get it. As an apartment dweller, I don't have the kind of workshop access that some folks do.
Given that the TW is so light, I am tempted to mount it on my Vixen Polarie (baby EQ mount for light cameras).140034

I saw a post on Reddit a while ago where someone had 3D printed a drying box with 8 slots. I will see if I can dig up the thread when I get home. (I recall asking if the OP would publish the file...
I don't have any direct knowledge. I can point you at the Daniel Smith catalog, or the Blick art supply catalog.

I recently bought an old 5x7 which came with a few boxes of early 1960s era Tri-X. I have no plans to use it. It certainly was not frozen or carefully stored.
Is there any use to this stuff?...
I picked up this Keith Camera for $200 including some film holders and a lens. I found it on craigslist and it was dumb luck.

WOW. My apologies folks. My brain, for some insane reason, was stuck on the idea that this was a Phillip camera. It is a KEITH. WTF is wrong with my brain. Sorry about the wild goose chase. ...
I'll break out a digitial camera tonight and take a pic. I hadn't realized it when I bought it, but it has a Packard shutter already installed. Now I'll have to start going after some barrel lenses...
It may not be pre WW2, it seems pretty old. It's fittings don't seem as finished as post war Anscos/Agfas that I've seen. If you have any knowledge about lens boards, let me know.
I recently acquired a 5x7 Phillips Camera (Pre WW2 vintage). It's rough around the edges, but pretty functional. The lensboard that came with it is 4"x4" with square cut corners.
I wanted to...
Yes. Horst.
I have to say this is a helluva cool thread.
Light bulb. My dad used a couple of 75W bulbs to keep dew from forming inside his boat.
Awesome stuff Sandy.

The Nov. 25 update on Kickstarter indicated that they were dealing with a minor defect that resulted from manufacturing. Which means that the production run was delayed and that once the run is...
I really enjoyed reading his columns. His books: "Craft of Photography" and "Art of Black and White Enlarging" (I think) are terrific books that provided really clear thoughts on camera and darkroom...
Thanks Thom. I will do that this weekend once I get a few thoughts in my head.
