This suggestion will work if you put it EMULSION SIDE UP.
Before you run out and give your money to someone else, have you tried duping your own negatives?
Why not slide your negs into your enlarge, at your sharpest aperture, and enlarge onto some 8x10...
Well. I think I learned something tonight.
Jim Galli was out making photographs(at least in my mind), that I don't like, while I was critiquing the photographs I don't like, instead of trying out...
Ok, my liberal use of fecal adjectives is less than ideal.
I'll not go back and change them as they might detract from the continuity of this thread.
Now, and in future, I'll endeavor to use...
Cow crap.
You can look at blurry, out of focus images, with half an old lens, and call it fine art if you want.
I'll call it like I see it. I think Jim Galli is making crappy pictures with this...
Hi, I enjoyed much of your website, kudos.
I didn't like the blurry shots you linked to, with your "secret weapon" lens. In fact, I think they really suck, and I would hazard a guess that they may...
Alrighty, I've decided to put this on the back burner for awhile, but I've discovered an astronomy club in my area.
When I regain interest, I think I might attend a few meetings, hobnob awhile,...
Hey there, do they make telephoto lenses for large format cameras?
I'm wondering, because I've been thinking about doing astrophotography, where grain is a major issue because of the long exposure...
Is ULF worth it?
Wait till I get ahold of one, then I'll tell you.
I dream of staggering large prints, with crystal clear clarity. (I'll have to homebuild an enlarger).
I know I'll probably...
It's a nice idea, but instead of adding another doo-dad that would probably cost in the hundreds of dollars....
You could just pick up an actual crown graphic for about a 100 bucks, and use the...
Down the STREET! JESUS! I don't know about where you guys are from, but up here you get in trouble for shooting in the city streets!
LOL!
But seriously though, recoil is always the same, always...
DUDE!, There are commercial labs which process LF FILM!!! IN COLOUR!!!
DUDE! I hate you!
I live in northwestern ontario, Canada, where there are more bears than people, and you can get anything...
It would be a great deal, if it was much cheaper than new, and IF it was really frozen since manufacture.
But the people who sell used film...are sometimes not so honest.
Know what I...
looks like something has seeped between the lens elements from the outside edges. Like say....cleaning fluid too liberally applied?
Snicker, Snicker!:D
Seriously though, mixed metaphors aside, it's a nice article.
x2
There's a copy of it in "HD's graphics treasure chest" as a online bittorrent.
Beware though, it's a compilation, and most of that is related to using photoshop, so you might spend awhile...
If it worked, then why didn't he do it, before he tried selling them to you?
Answer me that one?

That's definitely an option, however, my chair is a lighweight "sports" model, and does not have any place I can think of to place tripod attatchement points.
It doesn't have armrests,...
Well, you guys were so much help in choosing my lens, I now need advice for a tripod.
It should be very adjustable, as I'm in a wheelchair, and generally need far shorter heights than the average...
I don't know about you guys, but I am a student, and a hobbyist, and a dollar a sheet isn't trivial.
I'm shooting 4x5, but I got a 250 sheet box of arista.edu 100 for about 60 bucks with shipping...
Ok, so, let's see if I'm up to speed......what I'm looking at then, is a 1947 lens,(from camerosity date code) in a 1942 shutter (from etched in date on rear) without flash sync?
Ok, so, is there...

Hi, I've been talking to someone about purchasing a lens, and it's pretty much a done deal, but I just noticed at the last...
Oh, and yes, I will someday make myself up a proper field camera, probably from a kit.
Yes, sadly. Although I've not gotten used to that luxury yet, so I might not miss it. My rangefinder is in pieces in a plastic baggie, the previous owner left it in. The 50/50 transmittance mirror is...
Thanks Tim, BTW, I'm looking for a lens so sharp that I'll need a box of bandaid's to make enlargements. Sharpness is the reason I switched formats.
So, I've got my crown graphic, and find the lens is not as nice I'd like. I'd really like to take advantage of the format, and do pictures of people.
I particularly like taking black and white...
Hey malum, that's a not too bad image of lens seperation, how about releasing it into the public domain so someone can upload it to wikipedia. It's easy! Just state,..... I, name, am the creator of...
I guess that's the bright side of sexism. No "Woman's Work".
(seriously though, I'm aware that the negatives of sexual discrimination outweigh the positives, we'll never know how good the "Astrid...
You don't have to pay pst on used equipment coming into Canada, just GST. Also, you don't have to pay any brokerage fees. EVER.
Just ask for the manifest and walk down to the Customs house...
