I made a donation to him when he was sick, I hope he is OK...
I know what you mean, I am nervous enough with a new one being shipped.
BTW, I see V700's on Newegg.com for $309 ("open box"-- scratches..hopefully not on the scanning surfaces!) With a limited...
I would also try it on another computer to make sure it is not a driver conflict or a problem with USB etc.
I gave up looking for the 4990 and just ordered a V700 based on all the good reviews I have read. I have been suffering with an old Kodak RFS 3570 (scsi) film scanner and a Microtek Scanmaker 6000...
It is really nice reading this. You are doing a great job and I hope to see the camera restored.

Giovanni,
There is a copy of the manual in PDF here: http://www.vikenk.com/minolta_manual.htm

It bugs me too Jorge.
Looks like someone has saved them. I downloaded one and it looks good. Thanks Bob!
Over 3,800 views on this thread so there is some interest.
Eric, there is a demo version of Winplotter to try here: http://btzs.org/Software/PlotterDemo.htm
If you use Photoshop's "Save for Web", you can set the image size in pixels for whatever the forum's max limit is.
If it is 400 pixels for example, you can set the largest dimension (Horiz or...
Email sent. I have PDF copies of the Minolta Flashmeter IV, the Autometer III, and the Autometer IVF if anyone needs them. Since Minolta is out of the meter business, I don't see any problem with...
I hope Fred has found a replacement set. If not, there is one for sale here:

Me Too! It looks great Amund!
Strange, can it be the lowercase r?
I still have mine in a Stanley rolling tool case.
The C-1 has a new home. Looks good Chris.
I have been a repair tech for almost 35 years. Been out of the business for a few years now so I missed out working on stuff that is ROHS. I guess about the only thing electronic worth fixing now is...
They referred to replacement parts. If it is the solder, isn't there solder that conforms to ROHS? How is stuff being built now?
It must be the display module. I can see a single CA339 IC and all of the other components are resistors, capacitors and the photo transistor. All available from electronics supply stores. The...
There is listing for a Turner-Reich 6 1/4/11/14 for 4X5. I have the 5X7 7 1/2/12/18.
Just ordered my copy. I have many manuals and publications in PDF form. Sections of interest or exercises can be printed out without hauling a book around.
I am hoping it is the next best thing...
Thanks for posting this Ken. It's nice to have the manual.

That was probably Jon Goodman. He sells light seal kits and offers detailed instructions for most cameras. He's a good guy to work with.
I have used Pliobond for re-attaching coverings. It allows you to remove the leather for servicing in the future.

I have a C-1 but I use the BTZS cloth and it has an elastic end that goes around the camera back. I think the C-1 has two clips at the top of the back for holding the cloth.
The documents also...
I just got my copy of the DVD and enjoyed seeing him working in the field and the darkroom. A photo of Edward is included with the DVD and I was saddened to see how frail he looked.
Thanks Merg...
So much for their motto "You have questions.... we have answers"
That soundcard tester works well. I used one for a while until I was lucky to find a Calumet tester at a flea market.

Turner Reich, thanks for mentioning the DVD. I just ordered it on Ebay and look forward to viewing it. I have the Brett Weston DVD too and liked it.

I have never heard of a series VII either. Here is a link to a site that has scans of some of the Wollensak lenses, it may help. I can only see a series II and III Velostigmat in the listings.
...
No Problem downloading it here. I enjoyed the issue very much.
The pages are a bit wide but I set View-->Page Display-->Single Page in The Adobe V8 Reader and had no problems.

Randy, you did a fine job on that camera! I can't get over how bad the original bellows were.

If you make it too pretty, people will be bugging you with questions :) Good luck and I hope you enjoy the camera!

I have the 5X7 and 4X5 backs for my C-1. They all fit very well and are easy to change. There is a grooved channel around the edges of the camera back for a good light seal. I usually stick with the...
I mounted an aluminum plate to the bottom of mine. Some C-1's have tapped holes on the bottom, I had to drill and tap my own. It is now very stable on a Berlebach tripod.
When I first got my C-1,...
Jorge, I am glad it worked out. I look forward to seeing your work with this camera.

I recently ordered one of his books which he was very kind to autograph for me. His web site is very interesting and he has done so many great things for Photography.
Craig, I am jealous. I wish...
Richard calibrated my spotmeter a few months ago and did a great job. He encloses a calibration record with it. It was something like a three day turnaround. I never talked to him or emailed. Got it...
Rory, I am very sorry to hear about this. Do you think the film was zapped when it was mailed to you new or on the way to the lab?
I think the idea of dividing up a large shipment is a good one....
Very useful, Thanks!
