Re: Why BLACK & White PRINTS!

I did color printing in the 1970s. I'm not color blind, but I don't 'see' in color. It did nothing for me, other than frustration because no contrast control like the Zone system I used in the 1970s.

Re: Macro Lens for Sinar F

The flower in the OP looks fine, so, indeed the 'standard' lens is perfectly fine in that setting.

Now, if the OP wanted to make a 4x5 internegative or interpositive of that print, then I think...

Re: Macro Lens for Sinar F

You can get just about any magnification with just about any LF lens. A macro lens can image a flat field better; do you need that with those flowers?

The transformer in my EST2000N makes the usual hum I'd expect from a big transformer. It is about as loud as the hum from the lift motor which hums at rest because it is actively locked at rest.

    Re: Fujinon W 180 & 8x10

I think it is clear there was an empiric observation the 180mm WS only fits a Seiko shutter. S = Seiko. See post #14.

No guess. Vaughan mentioned the "S" lens element only fits the Seiko and won't fit in the Copal.

Re: Show off your Large Format camera!

The rear is tilted all the way back to its stop. This keeps the front rails out of the image.
The base tilt on the lens is tilted more than the back. This allows the lens to come all the way to the...

Agree, Vapla is the way to go.

My 360mm Componon mounts with a special flange. My 300mm Rodenstock uses it's flange as a retaining ring. Either way works.

Seems the Super Chromega heads are not that expensive on ebay. The power supply was pretty simple and could be reproduced rather easily, assuming the head does not come with the power supply.

Do you have the manual? You can put a coin on the area of interest, then center the coin in the hole on the base of the focuser.

I think just the software cost more than ten lensboards. Assuming one send the file away for printing.

  26. Re: Tele for LF landscape with background compression (8x10)

Perspective ('compression') is only affected by subject distance. Film format or lens have no effect.
You are on the right track, cropping your 360mm images to see if you would like the 600.
