Harley,
If this happens with just one holder OR just one type of holder then that points directly to a holder light leak. If it happens with different types of holder then that means it happens...

Kevin,
You could perhaps take some inspiration (or at least pick up a few ideas) from Brooks Jensen's podcast series "Structure in the Creative Life" - the first of which is here. The rest of the...
I've been away from here for a while playing with some digital stuff. But it's refreshing to look in here again.
This is an excellent topic for a thread. I've done lots of interiors but this one is...
Here's one from several years ago:
Old Ash Tree - Woodworm

Over the years I've bought film and chemicals from them in their store in Mount Pleasant and by phone for delivery - all without problem. But not recently enough to say there's no problem now.
A foggy avenue of trees in my local park. Taken in November 2010 but only just finished.

Foggy Avenue
Here's a memorial plaque to Henricus Aldrich on wall of the nave of Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford. It's not the first skull and wings I've come across. Presumably it's to indicate that because...
I just took a look back at the start of this topic/thread. It was almost 3 years and over 4000 posts ago. The guy (eddo123) started it at the outset of his LF adventure asking for images to wet his...
Struan,
Thanks for your perceptive comments. They helped me understand the image better and my discomfort with it. My reworked version (below) in part addresses your observations by reducing the...
Not so much about the water - but it's certainly at the water's edge.

Staircase - Box Canyon Falls - Ouray
Taken a couple of weeks ago in my garden. It's a bit stark, perhaps that's the point? Comments welcome as it's an image I'm not too sure about ...

I made two Blurb books recently, an 8x10 softback and a 12x12 hardback. Both were printed on their Proline Pearl Photopaper. Both more than met my reasonably high expectations for such a book,...
Whenever there's a dog on the loose, beware. Occasionally one sees my open camera bag lying on the ground as an invitation to mark it as its territory, and one is too many!
I've posted the results here - two good :) i.e. film didn't move, but the third displays all of the problems of moving film

Images A, B and C are my first attempt at star trails. They were taken on perfectly clear consecutive nights around new moon...
Two weeks ago I made three 8.5 hour exposures of star trails in Canyonlands NP - my first. I didn't consider the matter raised here. :(
I'm just about to develop the film so I'll find out shortly...
You got my vote too Richard. Great subject which, as you say in the book's intro, doesn't lend itself too readily to LF.
For me it's the the best image magazine by far. I subscribed to the print version for some years then moved to the Extended CD/DVD version 35 issues ago. On a good monitor the Extended version is...
Tamrac Expedition 8x - it carries my Chamonix 5x4, 4 lenses, 10 double film holders, meter, filters, etc, etc. Velcro partitions can adjust to your needs. Tripod straps on in the middle of the back...
Good to hear. If wouldn't like it to have to be 'retired' because of ink unavailability whilst otherwise still able to print problem free. Fingers crossed for several more trouble free years. If I...
I've owned and used regularly (and frequently) my 4800 from new over 6 years ago.
Trouble free, and almost clog free - minor ones only easily cleared.
The only down side is the expensive Epson...
I suggest mounting it on a 'pruning ladder' which is essentially a tripod with steps.
Or get a ladder brace for use with a simple ladder.
Over the last couple of years I’ve been working on a portfolio of photographs taken along and under the Glamorgan coastline of South Wales. The visits have been well spread out – just four in total....
Gandhi - quite one of the best landscapes I've seen for a good while. Beautiful.
I've just taken a look at my finished files and found that I've trimmed 1 in 12 of my images to square. I know that I see a significant proportion of those as square at the time I make the image and...
Same - except that we hired a guide who drove our vehicle.
That was a good few years ago. I'll be back for a second visit in September.
Don,
I use an embosser. I've copied below my reply to someone else who asked me the same question, which in turn was a reply to another someone else!. As you see, my supplier is here in the UK,...
Good thread idea Ken. I have a few door pictures, some of which pose the old question "Green door, what's that secret you're keeping?".
The first is a triple doorway at the ruined Tintern Abbey...
Terry,
Over the last several years I've taken many church and cathedral interiors as well as other historic buildings with the same inherent subject brightness range challenges. And I have...
Scott,
Mine's sent too. Thanks for picking up on this.
I thought as much. I was there in September 2008 and if I recall correctly The Priory was about to undergo some major restoration works. Did it happen and did they do it well? I hope so. Or am I...
Liam,
Is that Boxgrove Priory?
Thanks for posting this Thomas. Brings back all sorts of memories for me - but they are from Ilford, not from Kodak. I worked for Ilford, in Brentwood then in Mobberley between 1974 and 1986. For...
Hello to my fellow ‘Folioers’. My copy of our folio arrived a week ago, seven days after Jim posted it. Compared with 33 days to get mine to Jim, that’s impressive!
I too would like to thank Jim...
I suggest my three posts on this thread page
You'll see my cheapo but very very effective variformat viewing frame. I use it for selecting every shot I make.
Cost = £0.00 or $0.00 or €0.00.
This was taken about a month ago just prior to sunset in Brittany (NW France) during what was has turned out to be the earliest and mildest spring in parts of NW Europe for many a long year.

And a personal courier for mine!
I am - as well as the effect on some reddish wood. For some rocks and woods it has the effect of increasing the contrast. Obviously blue darkens red, but in the context of the other tones in some...
All the usuals for B&W but also 47B - deep blue. Without it some rock formations are dead flat. With it they pop. I learned about its use when photographing rock art but found that some rock...
What a relief they've arrived. I was beginning to doubt I'd sent them :)
I wonder where they spent most of the last of the 33 days? At least I won't have to reprint and reship.
