Re: Metering and an exposure calculator.

I have an iphone app that I purchased from the appstore which does function as a meter... it works, but it's clunky.

Bear in mind that the only iPhone to date which can practically meter is the...

Re: Metering and an exposure calculator.

    Brad,

all great thoughts. You're right, the UI right now is not exactly in the same order as how I described the flow, and I know the UI is messy and terrible. It's mostly a proof of concept to...

    Metering and an exposure calculator.

I haven't yet mastered all of the nuance of metering on large format. I use a spot meter, a Minolta Spotmeter F to be exact.

Basically, trying to meter a tone in the scene, correct the indicated...

    Re: Cannons!

good catch! The base is level(ish), but since I'm running a jobo tank on it, and the jobo has the big red collar on it, it sits up about 10-15 degrees. I guess I need to make a matching collar for...

    Cannons!

I went up to Kennesaw Mountain today and shot some of the cannons and such.

I'm still working on this whole spot metering thing, so some of my shots aren't ideal, but every now and again one...

    Re: Cheap, sturdy tripod--construction tripod?

I have a vanguard setup with the large "300" sized ballhead that I bought to work with MF and my crown graphic, and when I got my omega 45F, it just wasn't cutting it. I'd have to really crank down...

I think your 'dirty grain' is, in fact, skin :D You'd have to work at it to get grain that visible out of an 8x10.

I do my own E6, 35mm, 120, and 4x5. It's not terribly difficult, and the process is more tolerant than some would have you believe.

    Perhaps!

At EX condition, I would have likely been angry. My EX condition PDs prism has no desilvering. However, at UG and $12, I don't mind a bit!

    Re: KEH "Bargain" equipment.

I've bought a lot of stuff from KEH, usually BGN, always more than serviceable. Not too long ago I bought a Nikon 18-200VR for my digital, got the BGN grade lens at $465 (vs $650 for EX or $800...

Re: Thoughts on replacing aperture blades

Hahaha it's actually way less expensive to laser cut stuff when you DON'T own the machine. Those things are not cheap, and the maintenance is priced accordingly.
