    Between 55 and 80mm : 72 XL ?

    Hi all,

    I have a 80mm Schneider and a 55 Rodenstock.

Sometimes I feel the 80 mm is a bit short or lacks image circle. But the 55 is then too wide and has a small IC.

A 65mm would be the same...
  2. New article on starting LF at Luminous Landscape

    Wonderful article.

I finally find another 45SU user and can compare how he uses his camera.

The 45SU is the best purchase I made for the last 10 years.

Another belgian born in 1971 (in Liege...

    Schneider XL

I had the Nikkors but I bought the 80 xl for its wonderful mix of weight/coverage and sharpness. My other lenses are Schneiders.

Sometimes I feel there is something missing between the 80 and 55...

    Hi all,

    I have a Nikkor 75/4.5, a Nikkor 90/4.5 and a Schneider 80 XL and a 110 XL + a few longer lenses.

I would like to ask a question to those who have used either the Schneider 72 XL or 90...

    Nikon 90/4.5

    Hi all,

I noticed that Joe Cornish uses now a Grandagon 90/4.5 instead of his Nikon 90/4.5.

As this is his most used lens does anyone know why he changed.

I tried to ask directly but have...

    Center tilt on Ebony

    Dear all,

I have received my new Ebony 45SU.

By tilting the front standard I have noticed I lost the focus on the middle line. It seems that despite a center tilt the focus is lost.

    I also...

    Screen for Ebony

    Thanks already,

What is the best way to contact Bill Maxwell ?

Has he got an internet site ?

Does he absolutely need the GG frame ?

As I live in Europe, it seems to be somewhat harder.

    Screen for Ebony

    Hi all,

I have just received my Ebony 45 SU.

    What a wonderful camera !

But the screen is somewhat of another league (compared to my Sinar P2 screen).

I bought a Beattie Screen for that P2...

    Sinar P2 on the field

    Dear all,

I have a Toyo A2 and I recently purchased a P2. This latter is very sturdy and the asymetrical tilt is very to use.

I would like to use the P2 in the field but would like to know how...

How to focus fast with a Sinar P2

    Thanks Jerry.

So the process is essencially visual. Both lines "get" into focus as you tilt or swing. You do not report any angle on the standards like on the F's.

    It's indeed very fast.

    Am...
  13. Invest in a 6x17 camera, please help me decide ...

    I have a GX 617 and a 90mm.

Expensive but lighter than a P2 (6 lbs vs 13) and I got some good shots handheld (but it's of course not the best solution).

But given the price of the other lenses...

How to focus fast with a Sinar P2

    Dear all,

I had previously a Sinar F1 which had a clever system to calculate the right tilt angle.

Now I have bought a second hand P2 which has geared tilt and swing.

    There is no tilt...

    A few scanner facts

    Hi folks,

I've got an Epson 4870 and results are very nice for the price but the scanner is very slow (45 min with Ice for a 6x17) and the sharpness is below my Nikon Ls-8000 (i'm happy, given the...
  17. Fotoman 617 and 617 Pro : alternative to Fuji GX617 ?

    Hi folks,

On Badgergraphic they have a Fotoman 617 6x17 which uses LF lenses. This might be an economical ($1600) and more flexible alternative to Fuji GX617 $3299 (I own one but I think it could...
