Yeah, I've got one of those (mine hasn't got all the embroidery for the name). It's light-tight and it does what it's supposed to do. I'm happy with it. I don't do 8x10 but It's got room inside to...

I have a fridge full of Wephota NP15 (DIN 15, so ISO 25), which I understand to be coated by Filmotec in Germany. It comes in ORWO packaging.
See...
It says it's "coiled spring steel". I suppose you could use something like those bendy rulers they had at school, for drawing curves with.

The Simple skin, that's the one.
The favicon works fine from where I am sitting.
I am going to miss the black-and-white forum theme, which looks a whole lot more like work when somebody sees it over my shoulder than the...

There's not a lot of sunlight right now.
Re: protective flap; yes, there is a protective flap inside the zipper on both inner and outer, formed of doubled-over fabric.
I've got one as well, and I'm happy with it. I haven't used anything bigger than half-plate in it, but there's plenty of room for opening up the book-form plate holders.
2F below zero? I'm not surprised it got a bit sticky.
Much as I think 'large format' is a state of mind not a size of film, and the state of mind I need to drive my 6x9 Bergheil is no different from the one somebody else needs to drive his 11x14...
Fair enough. I wish I'd noted the number on my similar shutter, now. I looked at all the dial-set Compurs I can find around me here and each of them matched within a few years of the lenses mounted...
Once upon a time I had a 8.3cm Heliar in a dial-set Compur exactly like the one on that camera, but it's gone now so I can't compare it. I never had the camera that went with it.
Heh. But I didn't mean you, I meant the original poster with his 5-digit number.
Who says 4:5 is the golden image ratio? Not the Greeks, and not me either: it's too square. Half-plate is the best.
Are you sure you're not missing a digit or two from your shutter serial number? It's not been painted over or anything?
One of Kerry Thalman's 'future classics'.

I wonder if we're in the future yet; it's 12 years since the last update.
They typically cover 6x9, but the exact coverage depends on the lens prescription.
The Bergheil bayonet flange should be held on with an ordinary retaining ring; it is on my (smaller) Bergheil.
Those bayonet flanges are like hen's teeth. Don't throw it away.
Probably made by Filmotec, although if you needed to know for certain you'd have to ask. http://www.wephota.de/fotogra.htm
25 or 100. I've got about 250 sheets of half-plate 25 ISO film in my...
I've got one of these Chinese tents in the middle size and it is fine.
€260? Bargain.
Also with LibreOffice (formerly OpenOffice).
Wephota with an A. I don't know who coats it; is attributing it to Foma or Fotokemika more than just speculation? It comes in ORWO packaging.
The manual?
This, maybe. http://www.amazon.de/Using-View-Camera-Steve-Simmons/dp/0817463534
Ebay item 320756799920, for example, is a decent scsi card, compatible with Windows 7 64 bit, for $20.
Check ebay; some fairly decent Adaptec cards are available for $30-$50.
40x50 Reisekamera? You're not going to travel very far dragging a 40x50 camera.
"DRP" stands for Deutsches Reichspatent.
Just as an aside, why do people so often obfuscate lens serial numbers? It's not like a social security number.
I've bought some from here a couple of times.

I think half plate FP4+ and HP5+ was available in this year's Ilford special order, but...
Why not just shoot half-plate sized film?
With respect, you seem to be a bit scared of it because "Someone Chicken scratched the box with the letters 14 inch lens, it already says that from the factory so I dont understand but it's just a...
I think it's a Hampshire.

I've changed my mind; it's a bigger, posher car than a Devon.
It's an A40 Devon.
http://psimmonds.org.uk/DevonDorsetBook.htm
November 49 to March 51, I think (http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/registrations/xx.htm). Were you expecting these plates with the camera, or were they a nice surprise when you opened the package?
Arguments aside, it's a beautiful picture.
It looks like new in the picture. Compound shutters are high quality and very repairable.
If I were forced to guess a diagnosis over the internet I would suspect that the caps on the cylinder...
It's a Watson Acme, like mine.
The front standard is what gives it away: The attachment that holds it on at the bottom, and the rise/fall clip.
It's a fine camera, its main flaw being that the...
