I think I'll go this route. Thanks for the idea!
Epson papers come with instructions that recommend placing "plain" printer paper on a print during it's first 24 hours of drying. I do this because I notice less bronzing of the print down the road....
This may be an old thread now but I owned an R3000 for almost 2 years.
Good things:
The heads almost never clogged. It'd sometimes sit for 3 months without use and I never had to worry about it...
The main problem is illumination of the corners. I don't really have problems with saturation, I just think of it as a bonus if I can get it a little better. I do sometimes have problems with flare...
We'll be going with RotoTrim because my wife can get them at net through one of her distributors. Does anybody know if the 48" Rototrim Master Cut has dual bars? I can't tell from their website. ...
Yeah I have a Fresnel screen. It's meant 135mm lenses I believe.
What makes the 90mm Nikon f8 good? I'm looking for a brighter lens and one that has good multi-coating for better saturation than...
Woops sorry! 90mm!
Sorry I didn't know exactly where to post this bit since it's related to our printer I thought this may be fine. My wife and I are considering a paper trimmer because it's getting a little annoying...
I have an older single coated super angulon f8 which I'm starting to tire of due to the dark corners. I shoot in the field and I think I'd be able to work quicker with a brighter image.
How much...
Awesome, that's the info I was looking for :D and it's only about $30 from ebay.
Yeah you're right. With the 4x5 film loaded in the enlarger I'd have a bellows for between the lens and the...
It's a turret, not a lens board, so I'd rather not epoxy something to it. I was hoping to figure it out with threaded adapters and the likes.
I'm probably not the first person to think of this. I currently have an omega 4x5 enlarger with a dichroic head. Is there a way to reverse mount an enlarger lens then mount a DSLR to the lens for...
What's the going rate for a ColorQuartet dongle? I'm considering the option of using a Scanmate 5000.
Thanks for the info. Do you use it with a Mac because you're familiar with Mac or does the software work better with an Apple computer than Windows? Do you have any advice to give when looking for...
I have a Wista 6x9 film back that has a pretty serious light leak. Where do I source out replacement foam for it?
How much desk space does the Flextight Precision II require to operate? I'm trying to figure out if I have room at my current workstation for one or whether I'd have to get more shelving/table space.
I finally got around to annotating a 13 minute video I produced of me making a 16x20 RA4 print from start to finish. I don't have the roller transport set up any more, now that I have an Epson 9900,...
Does anybody have any ideas on how I could jury up a Linhoff lens mount for small Linhoff boards? So I could use my 90mm interchangeably between the box camera and the view camera?
What types of woods work well for building box cameras? Strong & light weight is what I have in mind.
Thanks guys. It's for a fast to set up, run and gun camera. I won't really have time to focus the lens during the shots so I'm building a super light weight camera that's fast to set up and Pre...
I'm working on a box camera attachment for the rear portion of a Titan pinhole camera. How do I calculate the distance from the film plane of my 90mm SA F8 when focused on hyperfocal at F32? Where...
What are some of the differences between the Colormunki Photo and the i1Photo Pro 2 for print profiling? Is the UV cutoff feature of the i1Photo a noticeable feature? How about ergonomics?
It...
It looks like my e-mail settings for the forum aren't set properly, I had no clue people were responding to this. I e-mailed the folks at Beau Photo to see if they can ship E6 to Calgary. I've...
I have a 90mm SA F8 on a flat board (not recessed) and I'm wondering if I'd be able to focus on infinity (or at least hyperfocal) with the 45 SP, a standard bellows, and the Dayi 6x17 back? I can do...
Unisource/Mondrian has gigantic quantities (100L mixes) of E-6 available. None of the online retails (B&H, etc) can ship E6 over the border. Are there any sources for small sized mixes of E6...
Is the trimmer separate from the print head? The x900's trimmer is separate from the head so that may be one differentiation. My wife and I are considering a 24 or 44 inch printer for her framing...
What are some of the differences between the 7890 and the 7900? Are the cutters the same? Does paper load differently? Do they both have the anti-clogging, anti ink heads like in my r3000?
I'm...
You basically contact print one negative against another, develop the newly printed negative then register it against the original in a sandwich and print the two together on to your paper. I use a...
Yeah I'm aware the 24" printers need 4 strong lads to manoeuvre into position and get it on the stand. I'm trying to determine if I can get it through the house to it's final resting place and if...
How much space is the minimum to operate a 24" printer, specifically an Epson 7900 or 7890? Can anybody throw around something like x by x feet to change cartridges, fix jams, load it, etc, etc?
...
I print 6x7 and 4x5 using RA4 in the darkroom and have been pining for a good scanner for a while now so I don't have to spend time masking. I scan with a V700 and use the included 4x5 holders for...
I soaked the prints in photo flo for about 1.5 minutes and laid them out on glass, face up, to dry. It got most of the buckling out to the point where you'd have to be looking for it to see it. ...
How archival is the stuff? The work's editioned and will be for sale.
Does anybody know any ways to correct buckled/warped RA4 paper without mounting? I don't have a dry mount press so mounting the prints aren't an option.
I normally dry my prints on home made...

Can I use the CC settings that yield a balanced, unmasked print as a starting point for the mask's colour balance?
Also, this...
Yeap that's standard issue and I even tried extending it to 5 minutes with slight agitation
Haven't tried this, thanks for the tip. You think the hypo-clear is reusable or is it one-shot? If...
I spent more time on this issue. I've got some masks I did a while ago with 4x5 FP4 that I was registering by eye and they don't have the pink/purple base colour. That's why I brought up this issue...

The above is a scan of an 8x10 proof I finished yesterday. I spent a lot of time preparing this image for enlargement in the...
I'm introducing cross curves with my unsharp masks when printing RA4 in the darkroom. I'm trying to figure out if it could be the difference in colour between the FP4+ film base and film emulsion or...
No I didn't. If I were to shoot 5x7 I'd be doing it quite a bit down the road. The thread was started due to curiosity because when I was holding some 5x7 sheets (used for masking 4x5) I thought...
