Pretty funny!
You've got the right idea: keep buying new equipment. That way you'll have a bunch of stuff, but will new learn how to use it. On the other hand, you could work on learning how to use what you've...
Read Lee Frost's book on black and white and forget all this testing BS.
I like the "Aritic" coolers found in WalMart's sporting goods department. They'll hold a half dozen holders and have outside pockets for miscellany. At about $13, I like the price too.
Anyway,...
Try contacting this guy. He specializes in Sinar items and may have one in stock for you.

Interesting. I just got right into their website. Maybe the nebulosity is elsewhere. A check of your web address and phone number.
I've seen some of George DeWolfe's work that is very fine.
Also, Ron Landucci does beautiful work:

It doesn't matter which cable is plugged into which outlet. It will work eithere way. --per Picker's original instructions.
I'm not positive, but I think Wisner 8x10 boards may fit the Zone VI 8x10. you might try calling Wisner to see if they know for sure.
I carry a tailor's tape in my pocket and measure the extensions from the lensboard to the film plane. Then I have tables in my notebook for each lens.
There were several iterations of "Zone VI" cameras. I'm not an expert, but here are at least some of them:
1. There was a Wista that was private labeled as a Zone VI.
2. Wisner made a Zone VI...
According to this article, you should tighten the large knob:

Check www.wisner.com
Check the TSA website on regulations.

I've found that Calumet does respond to emails for customer service, but they are not really fast.
I'd suggest taking a look at Steve Anschell's book and VC printing and then, performing the...
The quality won't be great, but for experimentation, try cutting an aluminum beer can to the shape you need. The use a #10 sewing needle to punch a hole in the center of the aluminum. Place the ...
I tried a Pocket Expedition, but did not like the way the front standard set up. It was very quirky to get in place, and if you had to reset it, it was like starting over. The small size is...
My enlarger is in an alcove. I built a support platform with 2" x 4" lumber around three side that are set even with a Home Depot cabinet. Then I made a bench top with two layers of particle...
Unless you can get a densitomer very inexpensively (they turn up on Ebay regularly), or you do a lot of film testing, I'd forego the purchase. You can fine tune your exposure and development by ...
You can find extensions like another writer mentioned at a science store that sells telescopes. You should be able to find one that will fit over the shaft of your enlarger focusing knob, or you...
When at home, I'd recommend using a vacuum cleaner. Blowing with compressed air only moves the dust around. To get grit out of the dark side tracks, remove the dark slide, and tap it on the edge...
I found these notes on the web a while back, but couldn't locate the original source. This was from a reputable camera restorer. Hope it's useful.

You can find good used water temp controllers on eBay at very reasonable prices these day~~especially compared to new.
I'd echo the advice to standardize at the largest diameter filter requirement for all of your lenses. You shouldn't have a vignetting problem by doing so. I've standardized at 82 mm, my largest...
As other responders have said, it's hard to reliably read pyro negative because of the stain. The best way to adjust your ASA and development time with pyro is through experience with actual ...
I use a 410 head. It's really great, very easy to level, and make small adjustments. Compared to a ballhead, however, it's heavy--a consideration if you're carrying, especially on a tripod that's...
Try Type 52 if all you want is the print. It yields uncomparable images with terrific mid-tones. Keep your contrast range between III and VI 1/2. The film responds well to 'tinkering' with...
You can also use hypo clear with the same results and avoid stocking another chemical. I also find you can hose off the 'goop' with a kitchen-type spray hose. I think that was suggested by...
It could be your meter as well as the other variables mentioned. The EI's with one of my meters are always higher. As long as the negatives you get give you a full value range on a consistent...
I use and recommend a Gitzo 1348. Prenty sturdy, much lighter and smaller than a Ries (which I also have and like very much). The tripod head is another consideration in regard to weight. I use...
Some of the old Nevada towns within a couple hours drive can be interesting. Try Beatty. Nearby is Ryolite~~a ghost town where the color may not be dead, but . . . You should be able to find a...
I use a Wisner 8x10 expedition and really like it. Compared to some (e.g., old Zone VI), it's lighter and more compact. Movements are smooth, lots of bellows, lots of movements, nice to look at....
It's pretty simple to make one for wood field cameras similar to the Wisner items if you have a few woodworking tools. I've made two that simply press fit next to the GG.
The 90SA f8.0 is sharper than the 5.6. When using a tripod, as you undoubtedly are, I'd go with the sharper lens.
FYI~~I have made two ground glass protectors similar to the Wisner press-fit wooden versions. It's quite easy and can be accomplished in a couple (maybe, three!) of hours including finishing. ...
With Type 55, 1. It's much easier to take the negatives, undeveloped, back to the darkroom (or your kitchen, whatever) and process them. It saves carrying around the bucket or tupperware...
You'll find a tent to be a great improvement over a bag. I've used a Harrison for years. Suggest getting an 8x10 size even for 4x5. The extra room is luxurious and the size and weight aren't...
I received a flyer from Calumet yesterday. Zone VI graded paper is on sale. Get it while it lasts.
After reading this for two days, I've come to agreement with the "much ado about nothing" comment. I've used Schneider lenscaps when a used lens of another manufacturer came with none. I find ...
I use a Tupperware sandwich container for mounted gel filters. It's very durable and takes very little space in bag.
