Thanks for the nice comments. Insanity can be amusing, in my case it's purely hysterical.

Thanks!
I make (made) a point of using whatever lens I had laying around at the time. Everything from funky old Polaroid and cheapo garage sale enlarger lenses held on with rubber bands up to...
Some good info on the different backs here.

I do most of my shooting with Graflex RBs (4x5 and 3x4) these days. The biggest disadvantage is their size and weight. Other than that I love them.
I haven't done very much commercial work lately but when I have it's usually been LF (and if not then MF).
Glad I could be of assistance. I love those old cameras, maybe because even I can figure them out!
The little plate should be rotate quite a few times unless someone has already beaten you to that. Sounds like it might have finally given up the ghost, although unless the spring is actually broken...
That's your ticket right there. Unscrew the three screws and try to turn the disc one full rotation clockwise. This will add some tension and keep the screw-holes lined up (sometimes they are not...
Shipping has been a real killer lately.
Leatherman
Waterproof pens
Medical tape (waterproof, easy to write on and read)
Spare darkslides
assorted junk that happens to fall in or not get taken out.
No issues from color change or crystallization. It's like magic.
I've heard tales of people putting their valuable gear in a day-glow Pelican case with designs spray-painted on in contrasting day-glow colors. They put an empty flare or starter pistol in with the...
I made one for mine out of oak and brass.
If you have a dial meter (not digital) and a ruler you can accurately get the bellows extension factor without using any math. It's what I do for all my macro work.
When I do multiple exposures it's almost always by accident and as a result exposure and development are as normal. It's certainly the type of thing you'd want to play around with to get a feel for,...
Did you try Panda Lab?
I see no problem with this layout.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked them. Magnifications range from 6-12x, sometimes as large as 24x but those tend to be difficult for technical reasons. I have eight-feet worth of bellows.
Here's a...
I have a couple of the f/2.9 versions, I think they're lovely.
What was it like? Like shredding money. Beautiful and wonderful and more than a little bit silly.
Thank you very much!
That really depends on your expectations. The nice thing about LF is that you are not as likely to make the same type of enlargements you would with a mini-cam. So whereas 1/150 might be necassary to...

From my Angels & Insects collection
I use one for a brightscreen. Shhh, don't tell!
Kentucky windage.
Graflex RB heavily rekajiggered to work in harsh enviornments.

To the dark side, of course.
It's based on Sinar components. Sinar standards and then a custom rail and bellows. Lately I've been experimenting with something more portable but I just haven't had the time to see it through.
The problem with discussions of macro photography as I see them is that they tend to assume that everyone knows what everyone else is trying to accomplish. It's probably safe to assume "more of the...

I'm not sure yet, still trying to figure that out.
I've added a little text under the photo letting people know that clicking it will send an email. Thank you for bringing that to my attention,...
I'm planning on getting around to adding to it maybe sometime in the future, it's just a placeholder for now. I have no experience with Opera so I can't say, but it seems to work okay (in that it...
Hmm, not sure about the Russian. The image/link (which is the current extent of the site) should just open up an email message in your default program.
http://bleedingedgephotography.com/??
I dug up some old test photos from years ago. These were done using a 180mm macro lens.

Thanks, Steve. As far as I know they're still up for viewing. At least I haven't gotten them back yet!

I have a number of macro lenses that work well for both.
Unfortunately there isn't anything there to work with - it's clear. Looks like the negative buckled in the middle and pressed against the back of the one in front.
It's okay, not the end of the...
Looked up, saw the scene, took the shot, loaded a new sheet, looked up and it was gone. Just a couple seconds in all, there wasn't time for anything more.
I don't mind experience, it's when you...
