As an aside, a friend of mine used white factory painted corrugated sheet metal siding inside his garage-shop and it created a very nice clean wall surface.
The reason I am asking about linseed...
Fortunately it is not asbestos It is a tile composite of cement and wood shavings. And you are absolutely right about drainage around the house….Will be done.

The house was built in 1859, solid timber with standing siding, 1 1/2 inch by 8-10 inch planks. Rebuilt in the 60 's insulated and horizontal siding on top of old siding. So no lead paint problem.

Are there any issues with what type of paint to use on walls and cabinets in a darkroom. in terms of outgassing and chemical problems with papers and processes?

Artists! And retired cranks.
What filters did you use?
Great method but you must be limited to very stationary scenes.
What about problems rocking the camera when you change film holder and filter?
You need a very...
Digital negative separations processed and tweaked in PS and used to expose the DT matrices = best of both world?
Exciting times!

Ok, I understand.
Would it be possible to make pre-sensitized tissue in certain fixed contrast grades and then tune it with an additional brush coat at print time.?
That would depend on if you...
A couple of stupid questions Sandy..
When you tested the emulsion with the step wedge…. this is a step edge transparency that you contact printed onto the emulsion sample. Then you developed that...
Look, so inkjet prints 60 years after the heyday of DTs and billions of dollars in development in software and printing technology and now on a good day it surpasses DT?
OF course. With obvious...
That is terrific Sandy…… Few if any are as qualified to take on this issue as you are. Thanks!
Yeah, 60 years later and a few billion $$ i development, whoo, whoo…….. let's not go THERE…. it's all good...
I put this link in my Eliot Porter thread but it belongs here too…… it bit less "dense" than the previous video.

I found this video on you tube which shows the actual Eliot Porter dye transfer print process from making separations, masks, matrices, mixing dyes and final printing.
In his original lab!!

Further required DAS concentration and cost.

The TCIi price for DAS is about $90 per 25 g. There is a some mention of 2mg of DAS per sq in of tissue on APUG. That translates to $0.60 per 8x10 print.
The 25 gram price is advertised on the...
I would like to make it clear that I was somewhat apprehensive about starting this thread, should it in any way cast the tremendous work and effort by Sandy and others in a bad light.

Can you buy it and ship it in Sweden?
BH photo will sell it but only at their store in NYC…. no shipping. (ETC.)
I think we all end up at the same place… "I can handle it safely…. BUT"……

Looks like about $0.60 per 8x10 print?
Sandy,
Just finished reading the DSA thread on APUG. Thanks for the link.
In your opinion, if one "started from scratch" in developing ones Carbon printing workflow do you see any intrinsic...
Thanks Sandy I was just about to ask those specific questions, that is. how much residual dichromate is retained in the print itself. Personally I don't have problem of handling the stuff in the...
Pete,
Check out the link I put in my first post.
It gives supposedly an alternative to Ammonium Dichromate. Which apparently is a strong carcinogen……. I don't know what the facts are.
BUt...
The toxicity of ammonium dichromate puts a bit of a potential damper on carbon and gum printing, especially if one want to work in Europe, where availability might soon become a real problem....
How much would a print like Sandy's "Lost Car" sell for, if I may be so crass?
That is great news. What is your estimated opening date?

I doubt that the 750x500 pixel web pict gives justice to this print which must be something else to behold.
I took the liberty of printing it in 8x10 on my crappy Brother all-in-one printer…....
I would say that book title is an understatement!!
That is an amazing body of artistic work you are presenting Emil….. A unique vision, a technical tour de force and a fabulous coherent...
Will the prints be displayed here?
Great shots.
