I'll add a +4 -- that's a beautiful waterfall captured rather elegantly! The curves of the falls and the contrast in the image are just excellent.

Thanks for the kind words and glad to hear that I've inspired you to explore Ektar more. I'm certainly enjoying shooting more of it. If only it came in boxes of more than 10 sheets....
I took my Intrepid (1st Gen) out to the North Carolina Outer Banks and made these two images that I'd like to share. Both on Kodak Ektar and both with the excellent Nikkor 90mm SW f/8.

I have this camera as well and have certainly wondered what it would take to remove the water resistant coating that is already there and replace it with something like Teak Oil. Anyone have thoughts...

CineStill has made it past the $150k mark and this means that based on their campaign, they will be assembling 4x5 sheet film.
If it's only a money grab and we don't end up getting the sheet film,...
Jason,
Thank you for pointing the error in my math out -- it is $4/sheet at that point and that's closer to our normal going rate.
I still do hope they make it as it is 800 speed color film as...
Yeah -- they're definitely getting closer. If you back the $100 4x5 option, you get a 50 sheet pack of Cinestill Film if they make the $150k. That's $2 a sheet for CineStill, which is an amazing deal...
I like the placidity of the scene in this one. There is definitely something quite peaceful about it.

I use the "Envelope and Black Bag" set that you can buy at Freestyle. I use the 5x7 bags for 4x5 and it works fine. At 79 cents, these are a pretty good bargain. I've taken them all over the place...
This says book/traveling exhibit to me. I would love to see this exhibit in person.
Your work is really excellent artistic coverage of the aftermath of the storm. It's really something to look...
Alan,
That waterfall is absolutely amazing! The sharpness, control of composition and focus, and color are just top notch.

I'm curious to know if anyone out there is using Ilford Perceptol as their main developer and has had experience with timing for Kodak TXP320?
I've shot the new 400TX and found that Perceptol 1:3...
Looking forward to getting Jeff's image and giving this a go!

I am pleased to announce that my image, “A New Day in Scotland” has been selected for exhibition at the ECU 9th Photographic Image Biennial Exhibition!

Dirk,
Thanks for your comments -- it would be interesting to see with more sky and less stone. I'll have to bear that in mind the next time I'm trying to photograph a similar scene.

This is really nice -- the range of grays and the contrasts between true black and true white really stand out. On top of that, the visual contrast between the foreground and the sky is very...
I think you've really captured the essence of this waterfall. Black and white is very fitting for this type of work. Definitely looking forward to heading out and making waterfall images on black and...
Thanks! In all fairness, I must admit to bumping up the saturation a bit digitally, but not beyond what I felt the scene merited. I think had I shot with Ektar this would have been very close color...

This is an awesome image! For color balancing with color negative film, give Color Perfect a try. It's a Photoshop plugin and will set you back a little bit of money, but for getting scans of color...
This is an example of one of those compositions that are easy to walk by and miss. I love the execution of this and think the color of Velvia 50 really brings this to life! Excellent work! :D
That reciprocity timer application looks pretty interesting -- does the app have data for Kodak Ektar and Kodak Portra? That would be worth the cost of the app alone in my opinion.
Thank you for your kind words!
It definitely is! The guy was also complaining about the light -- how it wasn't quite foggy enough for what he was trying to do ;)

First time poster here. Just got started shooting in early 2013 when I was gifted a Calumet 4x5 Monorail. I have since bought a Crown Graphic for the portability and have enjoyed taking that out into...
