It doesn't take much to get the backs up on you lot.

Then it's good I only only offered a short summary of opinions.
cosmicexplosion I'd written a thorough critique of your work but I cannot post it. It's gone and I can't be bothered to re-type it.
In short:
You sound much like I did 5-10 years ago, and...
Thanks. I was in two minds about posting again
From this past Friday, 9x12 with a different Ernemann lens...

Works fine
No fun in that
Resurrecting a very old thread.
This camera was used quite a lot after buying an instant film back. I shot a series of dogs and owners, and another series of people outside Scotland Yard...
Yea I quite like it. I had the viewfinder laying around for a couple years - an expensive and mistake purchase a long time back - so I have the matching pair. It came with both front and rear caps as...
A few months ago I was given two ltm mount lenses by a stranger, Russar 20mm and Canon 135mm.
The lettering looks way too modern?
that's great. thanks.
I think that's very expensive for what it is... but you could sell the rollfilm adapter for up to €50 to the right person. Even so, I wouldn't pay €100 for the camera.
If it is for a collection...
Tolerance would be an easier solution.
AHHH so YOU got it ;)
If I made a trolling remark, would you bite?
As the title suggests really. I've so many photos from many different projects. There are the street scenes, the portraits and the nudes.
If I did a limited run of colour (or b&w) prints, would...
Just use a yellow filter.... :D
Those pics look great
Tried using it twice and gave up. Gumtree worked for me though, because it has less spam. I got some books among other things but there isn't a whole lot on there because it is lesser-known/used.
Yes, definitely, just seen your other pictures on flickr as well
Either yours has been stripped, or you are lucky enough to own a 'tropical' version.
Mine is black leather and very rough in comparison. Sorry I've not provided any photos yet. I hope to asap.
See, its so easy to lie and bs on here ;)
It wasnt very good
Nice work Claudio and Tobias
I use my LF gear like it won't be worth anything in the future.
Mine is 9x12cm as well. It came with a film pack adapter converted to allow the common metal plate holders to fit. I'm waiting until I can afford some plate-to-film adapters for those holders....
r.e. your opinion is just that, an opinion. this must be something that has upset you for many years. with that in mind you're better off leaving the forum than upsetting the majority of people who...
Considering the size of a FF dslr sensor, you're going to be struggling to find a LF lens wide enough to make photography easy. People use/used dslr's to stitch images together for greater...
Thanks r.e for making itt obvious you can't see past your own prejudices

Iain on 5x7 the other day
Alternatively do as I did when I tried the first time around (with a Kodak 1/2plate) - strip the paint with the bellows attached.
You can wrap something around the bellows to avoid paint stripper...
The commercial astragon lens i received on the 5x7 handheld camera was very hazy on the front element.
I dismantled the cells and placed in it soapy scolding hot water and gave it a gentle run...
All it took was some cleaning and lubrication. I used some WD40 and lighter fuel to free the gummed up cogs. There are screws all along the back to remove it in one piece exposing the shutter
Well that's what Mike said he thought. Someone proposed that a while back I think.
Either way it was in a pretty rough state, for once I've not done too much damage ;)
Hi Dan,
The lens isn't original, it was one chucked on for good measure before I bought it. No idea of vintage, you may be right about it being a home made p&s. I call it aerial because it was the...
I couldn't resist owning this thing.
Mike sold this to me recently. It had a few problems. One was that the focus was fixed and wasn't infinity. The spring back was missing a piece that keeps...
Considering the holder style, they could be early. Mine came with a huge mechanical shutter wedged on the front though, and it looked more modern than the 40's. I know that some parts of Eastern...
Yours looks like a much nicer version of mine. No idea on production I'm afraid!
