Agfa Ultra 50?
More generally, it is a color model term. Anything the model is applied to has it.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I even did one where I was sitting on a rock on the other side wearing a black shirt to look like a pupil. Unfortunately, I didn't like my posture much so I...
Culvert along the Merced River.
Portra 160, 300mm Fujinon-C f32 1/4"...if I remember correctly.
Yeah, but the shadows shifted more than I expected and the clouds much less. I think it was 1 minute exposure at 5 minute intervals for the colors and then 15 seconds for the one without a filter...
Actually, I needed to be slower! I thought the clouds were moving much faster.
This didn't really come out the way I was expecting...
150 Sironar-S f45. T-max 100, D-76.
4x4"x5", red filter, green filter, blue filter, no filter.
I like the way you think!
So aside from a toothpaste dispenser everything is trash but the plate holders. That's about what I thought. That's all fine because I was really only hoping that the plate holders could be put to...
A few years ago after the death of my grandfather, the famous lens designer and astronomer James Baker, I was given his old Graflex camera and a bunch of accessories that were in the case. So I have...
OK, just for kicks I'll post an image that I believe would be EXTREMELY difficult to execute without a large format camera.
And yes it is rather strange and is absolutely not intended to be an...
Thank you Drew,
Do you apply the adhesive film yourself? If so what is the product? I did this for a project where I was shooting 8x10 directly down and it worked really well as far as keeping the...
Completely agree. Could you add a bit of detail about your holders and the maximum apertures you typically use with them? I have crappy holders and usually stick to f16 and f32 for 4x5 and 8x10,...
Here is a sample. 8x10 Ektar at f45, 10 minute exposure, 360 fujinon-A. This was taken from a fully extended tripod on the bed of an unstable truck and it was dark enough to be difficult to focus. ...
The question is not whether they promote your work it is why they have a problem with you showing your work non-commercially. I've never heard of such a thing.
I've been tripping on my floaters for years. I have two kinds. One is stationary in the center of my field of view and worm like, but a closed loop. I've been led to believe that this is...

Bagby Bridge. Lake McClure on the Merced River.
EBony 45SU, Sironar-S 210mm, 10 stop ND, Portra 160NC, ~45 minutes f32
A couple 4x5s from the Merced River this summer.
I don't find scanning color neg to be problematic at all. Maybe getting it right directly out of the scanner is hard but I scan uncorrected and adjust afterwards. The current negative films are so...
Why thank you. This is in a structure behind a concrete pond at the top of a spillway. It's very near to where I grew up. I climbed up the spillway once about 25 years ago but never thought much...

Seems popular.
There are absolutely no trees at the top of Mauna Kea. It looks like Mars up there. The tree line is right about at the visitor center at 9300ft, 4500ft below where he claims he was. I don't...
Thanks Leon,
I conceived of this shot almost a year ago but between weather, security guards, and the end of baseball season I didn't manage to pull it off until last weekend.

Sinar P, 890mm APO Ronar CL, Ektar 8x10, f45 25 minutes.
Agreed. I use 1500/ f which is slightly more conservative. Regardless, I can't see any good reason for scanning f64 beyond 1200 or 1500 dpi (2x the image resolution) because there isn't any more...
Unless I'm mistaken, closer to 20 lp/mm than 40 lp/mm.
Sorry. BTW at 32x40 from 8x10 I completely agree with your conclusions.
So why do you talk about printing 8x10 at f64 up to 74 inches?
Maybe at 4x or 5x, but if you can't distinguish the difference between f22 and f45 at a 10x enlargement then there is something wrong with your system.
Did you replace the drum pads?
Does the bearing sound smooth as it spins?
Also, f32 is a perfectly appropriate aperture for a 90mm lens with a good deal of rise. You could probably get away with f22 but f11 would really be pushing it in terms of aberrations in the corners...
From the picture alone I would agree that the film popping is the most likely problem. However, it is curious that the problem would be chronic, consistent and at the top of the image (bottom of the...
I was set up all over the place. I'd find spots that were blocked to foot traffic such as between a trashcan and a newspaper dispenser or set my tripod half in fenced off planters.
