Oh yeah, and a free Omega D5500 loaded with lenses, turret, carriers...again, free.
24 pristine 8x10 Fidelity holders, free from an X-ray supply house.
It looks a lot like what velvet wrapped around a thin cord would look like. I have velvet that I use for backdrop, and it has similar nap to the light seal you picture.
Fred Lustig lives here in Reno and has all sorts of parts. He lives a few miles from me, and I last spoke with him last year. For the life of me I can't find his phone number, but you might try a...
I have this lens, and find mine covers 4x5 quite well even at larger apertures. I have never used much movement with it, but the 8" of coverage seems accurate.
Brian's suggestion is a good one.
The program is called SI Pro and the purchase link is here ($24.90):

I still find that a few BTZS tubes is part of the perfect travel kit. I include some PMK and fixer in smallish bottles, and have an old Kodak thermometer that I put inside a narrow hard plastic tube...
No I did not use the densitometer to charge the batteries. Actually, I did not even know they would charge if I plugged the densitometer in - I will have to look into that myself.
I have used them with my 341, and readings from the 341 matched those from my Eseco densitometer as well as readings from the 341 using the wall adapter. Sometimes differing voltages from using...
Welcome!
Racine eh? - makes me remember Totero's lasagne , and walleye sandwiches at the Yardarm.
It's a beautiful area.
I would call Calumet.
I did not see it online last year, but called and they indeed had the Pentax stickers for sale. They also just dropped it in an envelope and charged me for a first class...
For the record, I had a really bad eBay transaction with 'wideangleman'. I was the seller on an inexpensive barrel lens and he refused to pay Canadian duties and taxes to Fedex to the tune of about...
OK, I know, I read that, but that still does not tell me what the software is doing.
if Q=1
screen = 2400
resolution = 2400 @ 48bits
image = 4x5 in
file size = 659MB
if Q = 1.5

I read a bit about the Q-Factor setting in Silverfast here on the forums and in the manual, but can't quite get my head around it. Basically, what the heck does it do to the file?
If I scan at 48...
I'd say unless you NEED it now, wait for a better deal. I just picked up an Omega D5500 with 3 El-Nikkors, 2 heads, neg holders, timers, trays, etc - a full darkroom - for free. That was after I...
Dan Dozer had a great journal about his 8x20 project. Search this site and try to contact him, he may have some good info for you.
I contacted Bogen via an email I found on their website and received a parts list and pricing for 3001 tripod parts in a couple days. Their parts service and sales was excellent. As for the rubber...
Ah, I had not run across that resource.
I have been sitting on a domain for years now, gearhound.com. Today I was bored (avoiding working...), and was thinking about what to do with gearhound, and though I might throw out a wiki related...
For those who have not browsed the Strobist blog, it is www.strobist.com. I actually, quite enjoy browsing the site now and again after having run across it only a few months back. It was information...
What is the last thing I needed to do yesterday? That's right, driving an hour to get another enlarger. Guess what I did yesterday.
I feel good about my grab though, a free Omega 5500 with a few...
I much appreciate the idea in this thread, but I think the subject, or task at hand influences the lens choice. For example, yesterday I shot the exterior of an historic theater here in town,...
Thanks for the reply Matt, I was interested in Lightzone for quick and easy touchup on files from my digital camera. I went ahead and bought it from MacUpdate for the $49, and am glad I did. This...
I don't think it has been mentioned here, but Lightzone is part of the current Macupdate promo:

A certain number of promo bundles need to sell before Lightzone is...
Wordpress is what I use, excellent product and free. You can visit http://wordpress.com/ to learn more. Many hosting companies have Wordpress as an installable application to incorporate into your...
I modified the dilution of developer used in BTZS tubes so that my normal development time is close to ten minutes. This leaves plenty of room for expansion/ contraction on either side of my normal...

I have always had a problem with the MIS spongeless in cartridges in my Epson 1280. The ink for some reason seeps and leaks out the ventholes on top causing a mess and contaminating the inkwells with...
They just don't seem to pop up that often, and prices reflect that it seems. I was lucky to find a good deal, and if you are patient you might find a deal. I bought mine about three years ago, but...
The neg carrier for my Beseler 8x10 enlarger is a 12"x12" clamshell of a piece of clear glass on the bottom, and a white plastic diffuser on the top. The two pieces sandwich the negative in the...

With the help of the members, I answered my question. I can stack filters to fill the contrast gap I found using single filters.
I stacked Rosco 3304 and 3315 filters to reduce contrast below what...
I have seen references to the article, but never seen the article. If you put your hands on it, I really would like to read it.
I am going to try stacking filters tonight to see if I can fill the...
I used BTZS WinPlotter to test the filters I have on Oriental FB VC, results follow:
389 ChromaGreen ISO 160
3304 Tough Plusgreen ISO 100
3315 Tough 1/2 Plusgreen ISO 90
Bare Zone VI/ Aristo...
Thanks for the responses so far, some good thoughts. As for purchasing Rosco filters, I usually buy from Adorama, Calumet, or B&H. My comment on not finding a place to buy was regarding the R44XX...
I use the Roscoe filters for contrast adjustment. I have Zone VI Aristo heads, W45 equivalent.
I need to fill a gap between the 389 and 3304 filters. The 389 prints about Grade 1 and the 3304...
I have always wondered why my Omega timer never worked quite right with my Aristo heads. It sort of works, but will not shut off completely after the timer has shut off, the coldlight still burns...
I'll post more when I get back to Nevada in a few days, but the Beseler 8x10 enlarger I have uses a 12x12 Aristo head.
I have the conversion kit on a 45MX chassis back at my home in Nevada. If you want to PM your email to me where you can receive pictures, I can provide them and any dimensions you might need. I will...
