Different standards perhaps? The screw sticking our could be a problem for me if it hooks on to stuff when packing/unpacking, a potential disaster to happen.
Yes
Yes it's the universal...
Found that too. Fidling around it can be folded but it seems like the front standard is not flush with the base.

Yeah and that look pretty similar to the 45N series. The 45F1 look way different (just to continue our APUG dialoque :D)

Hmm I wonder how much information in old threads, articles and websites is redderen obsolete due to discontinuation, change in formula or other? And how many pages do you have to browser through and...
Well if having the stuff send to a country outside EU and picking them up there before driving over the border to EU, wouldn't that work or would he have to pay some import tax there?
Kind of ironic. Whats the cost of airplane tickets and acommodation, food and transport on location etc? How much does VAT of a small number of 8X10" packs add to your total costs? Are the savings...
Well if you don't like the smell of it..............
The Chamonix 45F1 is another option that allows movements with the 65mm on a flat lensboard and it's universal bellows.I don't know the widest lens it's possible to use since the 65 is the widest...
Just picked up mine at the post office yesterday, the CT-3371. It's huge, fatlegged, initially it feels heavy for a CF tripod and the baseplate has the size of an aircraftcarrier. Love it :D Can't...

Deleted. Never mind has been comented
And maybe some ND filters could add to give the desired effect without the need for complete darkness.
One more option in German

Or bring some light of your own :)
How dark do you need it to be? How many different shot will you do in one night?
And how long is the sunset? In other words, go there and setup the camera while light level are adequate for...
Or just develop that sheets asap and see how it looks :)

I crashed my trusty old 055clb a while ago and had to settle for an old similar version of the190. Im not satisfied when using it with the chamonix 45F1 and just barely satisfied with the stability...
The manfrotto 055, the 190 is to light and unstable for my taste.
Nope you conveniently left that out :D
Threadjack risk. That 5x7 wooden field.....please tell more about that. Im considering an 8x10 but they are i safely expensive so maybe a 5x7 could do the...
Fair point. I think the mistakes we make these days comes down to our ability to distill the information needed out of foras like this and use it in the right perspective. My first LF camera was a...
But whats wrong then with going directly for the shen hao or chamonix and save the money else spend on mistakes? No need for us all to learn the same lessons the same way ;)
Confirmed the info i got about the bellows not being ir opaque. Had one darkslide loaded with two sheets of efke IR 820 and one darkslide with two sheets of Tri-X. Loaded one and Pulled the slide for...

65mm f8 focusses @ nearinfinity then tilted randomnly.
Sorry for the 90 degree tilt. Our part of the world is not level this morning.
Fred Picked? I seem to run into that name regularly these days. Is one or more of his booke worth buying?
I use a 75 on a recessed lensboard but it is possible to focus to infinity with my 65 on a plain one. Maybe i can do some shots of the 65 setup during the easter hollidays.
Id fancy a Technika but even used it's a slightly different price and....... ahem.........weight.

Ad1. Depends. Do you need or want assymetric Tilt of the back? The N2 was out of stock when I ordered and I accepted the additional cost of the F1 and I havn't regrets about that.

Thos was one of the threads from that time that led me to believe the chamonix bellows is not IR-opaque
http://apug.org/forum/index.php?threads/chamonix-45n-bellows-not-infrared-proof.48552/page-3
Really?? Vauv then Ill try it out for myself. In -13, I think there was some talk about it and I recall the outcome was it wasn't IR opaque. IIRC even Hugo Chang should have said so. But if it's...
Yes I like my F1 a lot too. Wish I could afford an 8x10". Only downside is the bellows don't allows for IR shooting. There are the Argentum cameras too, they seems lower priced but Ive never seen one...
What about the 2 MF looking cameras to the right? A Hasselblad right and a? 2 Hasselblads?
