I have a couple of references for bromoil but have so far been unable to find a reference for oil transfer.

I find you can overwork photos/paintings until you look at the technique used rather than the wanted image.
E.g. the grays in the photograph are so good looking you don't see the picture anymore.
Nice Set!
I'd be interested in hearing answers to this.
I use Ektar 100 a lot and I expose it like a normal negative colour film and have no problems with that.
I like the colours in Ektar 100 more than...
Checking that something hasn't moved in or out of your picture after you looked at the GG. My visualization sometimes become my reality and I forget that the world doesn't obey my visualization.

Doremus,
By "The simplest tools require the greatest skill." do you mean that with a simple tool it's so obvious if you've got it right but with a more complex tool you can fool others and even...
I'm going to be terrible and quote myself  "Perfection is a moving target."
Yes! I Tink this is my favourite thread.

I thought we all passed (on) ...
I suspect it should be "Happy Tink, she has to subdue her dinner before she can enjoy it ..."
Yes, that is a spooky one! I met the Scottish midges recently while on vacation with my MF. They don't play nice!
I like the Spooky Tree!

Yes, replace the bellows. I'd had my Technika checked by an expert so I thought everything was OK. All my long exposures were ruined while on a trip ...
And another vote for the Pentax Digital Spotmeter.
One note on cable release. The cheap ones with a cloth tube (Hama?) are no good, they wear out in no time. Get a high quality cable release, I've had one of the cheap ones break in the middle of a...
Funny, I've had exactly the opposite experience and don't use my Minolta spot anymore.
Mark,
Just had an idea. Don't know if it's appropriate but here goes:
Make a book with the Tink pictures an include the forum responses along with the pictures.
I find the synergy between the...
Locally I just take 5-10 but if going on a longer trip I take all I have. Currently only 15 but it seems I should try the toyos ...
No, no colour banding on my monitor.
Thanks!
I've been meaning to visit Scotland (as quite some of my ancestors come from there) for many years but never gotten around to it. Now it is at last happening.
What a pity, I'll be in...
Just going for a week last week of June. Any tips on good photography stores in case something goes wrong with the equipment?

Your screen is calibrated wrongly?
I've upgraded since the CS version.
But Content aware spot and 64 bit are the two only big reasons to upgrade, otherwise I would probably have been quite happy with just CS.
Thanks for the link. That was very enjoyable!
I recently started wiping my film cassettes with an Ilford antistaticum before loading film. A lot of LFP books recommend using a brush to clear out the cassettes but an old grayback LFP suggested...
If it had had built in calibration like my 27 inch Eizo I would have gotten a serious bout of G.A.S. It's funny how my 27 inch screen now feels fairly small. First time I worked with a computer (that...
Slide film is fast becoming alternative photography as lab after lab stop developing it.
I'd say b&w and colour negatives isn't alternative as almost all labs do them.
When most labs only...
And do you focus using the same fstop that you will expose with?
I use one from Edmund Optics, Barrington, N.J.
It has replaceable and different tips and it works fine,
Adrian
At long last you get all your gear ready. Go to the place where your image is 'waiting'. When you get there the window/tree/whatever is gone!
Good to know! Thanks!
Adrian
Thanks for the in-depth on the spot answer. I was first going to say clarification but that is perhaps not the best description considering the different and shifting rules :)
It's good to hear that...
True, he was going to publish it in the A10 magazine. But I guess the police considered him professional and thus publishing implied. I don't know which building he was trying to photograph, maybe...
You need a building release form to shoot buildings in Paris (whole of France?). A friend who photographs for the A10 magazine got taken by the police for not having one.
Correct me if I am wrong....
Often when I'm out with my camera I see the image subconsciously before I see it knowingly. I stop and backtrack to where I got the subconscious signal and start to try to locate the image.
I cannot...
Thanks everybody for the feedback.
It was good to hear that most of you really like the 150 Nikkor. I'll see if it's mounted correctly or perhaps it has gotten a heavy kiss in the past.
Adrian
Yes, I agree. There is a right lens for the specific image you have in mind.
I don't have a lens around 150mm that I'm happy with.
I have several over 200mm that I really like and I like my two...
Sometimes trying too hard isn't so good. I stop seeing potential images if I try too hard. But then at other times I really need to take any picture to get the flow going.
I have a Nikkor W 150 but on the GG this lens seems less sharp than my better 90mm and my better longer lenses.
So I'm thinking of locating a second second hand normal lens. I seems to have acquired...
The only time I'm a bit peeved is if I miss a shot I should have taken. 'I'll have a cup of coffee before I take the picture' has ruined quite a few shots!
