  1. Re: Holy mashed potatoes Batman-Willian Clift printing inkjet?!

Is anyone familiar with "Hahnemuhle Photo Pro 276 gsm"? Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Duo is 276 gsm, but I can't find any other paper similar to the description.

I'd love to know what paper (and inks)...

Re: Two years in the US. Top locations?

Unfortunately, the Mono Inn is currently closed - except maybe for special events (has been since last summer). I think its future is uncertain . . .

Re: Do I really need cable releases?

Potential technical issues aside, I think this is the most important reason to use one.

Re: Historic American Building Survey (HABS)

Thank you Kirk, that helps a lot!

I didn't expect that type of work to be any type of cash cow, but more of an interesting and worthwhile project. If it managed to pay for itself, even better!

Re: Historic American Building Survey (HABS)

    Thanks for the link Ron!

I'm getting a pretty good idea of the purpose and requirements of HABS, but I'm not finding much information on how the jobs are actually done (e.g. are there lists of...

    Historic American Building Survey (HABS)

I've seen Historic American Building Survey (HABS) work mentioned here periodically, as it is a natural for large format photography.

I've been trying to look into the subject a little more, and I...

Re: Ansel Adams: Do you see a worm in this apple?

If you've read much about Ansel, or have seen any of his interviews, it is very clear that he saw a huge difference between his commercial work (assignments from without) and his personal work...

    Re: Epson 7800 functions, query

I've run into the same thing with my 4800. The only way I was able to run paper through multiple times was to use margins that were big enough so that the printer didn't "see" the image when it was...

    Re: Nikkor-W 105mm f5.6 for 4x5?

Thanks for the responses! It confirms what I suspected, but I was kind of hoping that the specs were too conservative or that it might somehow be reasonable for 4x5.

I'll cross that one off my...

    Nikkor-W 105mm f5.6 for 4x5?

From its specs, it looks like the Nikkor 105mm f5.6 lens will barely cover the 4x5 format (155mm image circle at f22). I've seen the maximum format listed in various places as both 6x9cm and 4x5.

Re: What were Weston and Adam's darkroom like?

I just found this forum and enjoyed this thread.

I was able to visit both the Adams and Weston darkrooms through various Friends of Photography workshops. One thing I haven't seen mentioned (and...
