Another count for lights on when the film is in the stop bath. As an experiment with paper you can turn the light on when its in dev, and watch it darken, then move it to the stop and watch it...
This is a thread specifically for 6x17 photos, can't we just confine them to that and not go back to that age old debate?
Queenstown ;) Great shot!
Having a play with a new lens (180mm Commercial Congo). The film holder leaked a bit through the slot (forgot my darkcloth so couldn't shield it effectively) but I don't mind the effect.

Love these guys pricing: http://www.samys805.com/film-processing/ apparently very capable and do mail order within the states at least, might be worth an inquiry.
Damn, I was looking forward to getting some E6 done, I could live with the prices as they were, but thats brutal.
I do my c-41 with a Tetenal kit ordered through Lacklands, its been very...
You can get devices that project a line of red laser light from many sources, and they are only a few dollars. They would be an interesting place to start. The lens assembly might be able to be...
welly, I have done a reasonable amount of research into obtaining the chemicals in NZ, which is not entirely straight forward as collodion is a class 3 dangerous good. PM or email me if you want to...
Nice image Carey, I think Palmy has quite a nice diversity of things to shoot within a small area, the lovely Esplanade, few neat places in town, and forestry and hills nearby.
Hah, nah. I'd prefer I had the choice of having them there or not :P I see what you're getting at tho.
Some development issues with this shot, but I still like it. Maxed out swing.

Great work Drew, some lovely images shown there, and well spoken yourself.
Wow great story Ivan!
In an old Ilford manual I have it refers to films with the word "line" in the title as useful for copying blueprints and other line based documents. Probably very high contrast?
Good to see this thread, and collect ideas, I'm planning on making a camera to take the 24x30cm xray film with an 11x14 reducing back, with the option of wetplates.
I do the same as Brian, its quite cool to watch the image clear in the fixer. You can also see the effects of turning on the lights at different stages when using paper especially, when in dev, and...
That attitude towards people that were generally trying to help, especially when your question had errors in measurements wont get you far on here Jan...
If the hole and the shutter were both...
Always nice to get one up on our big brothers :)
Great photo Jennifer, really tells a story.
Every time I go to the South Island, especially the parts further away from civilization I always entertain thoughts of moving down there.
Does the film just get sent to Wellington for processing?...
Thanks David, It was a beautiful morning, the mist cleared to a spotless sky.
It was -4 yesterday morning when I left to go shooting, I love this kind of weather tho, always makes me look forward...
I have envisaged this picture for some time, and yesterday was the first time conditions have matched my goal (with me being there). Portra 160NC, front rise, Fujinon 90mm f8 @ f32.

Film boxes, Im sure if you put a wanted in the For Sale forum here you will get some, probably free or very cheap.
Nice shot Richard, I love how faithfully the NZ colours have been captured, I had a look at your site and there are some lovely shots, Glorious Decomposition is my favourite. May I ask where you get...
Nice work!
TIG or MIG welding? I love TIG welding alu, I could do it just for fun.
Same as above, my fidelity holders have the bow (4x5), and the springs for my back aren't strong enough to straighten it out, so I get leaks in the field. I keep the dark cloth on the camera to avoid...

Got my supplies from here http://www.willbell.com/ATMSupplies/ATM_Supplies.htm, very reasonably priced. Screen turned out great.
This method...
Welcome to the forum, have a search for Ilfochrome and Cibachrome, two names for the same process that allows direct printing from transparencies.
I would buy that lens (presumably cheaper than a 100% one), then make a replacement part :)
I've had pretty good shelf life from my c-41 chems so far.
I use Tetenal c-41 chems and mix up 500mls of chemistry at a time. One 5L kit has lasted me about a year now and has developed around 15...
I have PDFs of Adams' series if you would like a copy, I'm sure the Adams' estate would not mind helping a photographer in such a situation ;)

Still two bath tho.
I don't believe RED has actually manufactured their 6x17 sensor yet, its just vaporware. As for the seitz its just a scanning back, nothing too special there ;)
All good points, can't really argue.
I was thinking something similar, not to sound like sour grapes, but it was getting a bit "flickr" in here, only one more step to start posting awards!
This could be easily tested by holding a slit in front of a view camera and looking at the image on the glass.
I've bought two 90mm lenses off this website, one for $100 (Graflex raptar f6.8) and one for $120 (Fujinon f8), so they needn't be expensive. Both in great condition. I have access to another Graflex...
Ian I would have recommended that but didn't know where you could get the grinding paste on short notice. I made my own and its been great.
