Might want to read page two then...
Exactly, it's not a replacement, it's just another tool in the kit. Personally x-ray film has been a revelation for me. X-ray film allows me to take the photos that I want to take it certain...
I really like this idea!
The other day I started the metronome, turned the lights of, dropped four sheets of film into the developer tray, started the timer and went through my usual agitation...
I live in Bloomington Indiana. It's a college town but for all intents and purposes it's a small rural town that likes to think it's not so no chemical supply depot here. Indianapolis is an hour away...
Out of curiosity though, where does one find such chemicals? I'm sure that they could be ordered online but I'm wondering about local supply. If I could find a local supply of raw chemicals then it...
I'll admit a bit of trepidation when it comes to mixing my own developers. Not because I'm worried about messing it up but because I'm afraid of what it would lead to. You see, if I get involved in...
I've not tried any filters on my lens. I'm trying to get a feel for the film before I introduce any other variables. Right now I'm developing in R09 1:300 for six minutes and then stripping the back...
I've been playing around with Kodak Latitude x-ray film for a few weeks now and I'm finally getting some results that I like. I've been shooting it at asa 100 utilizing a spot meter an the zone...
That is exactly what I was wondering! Mine does not have a fresnel screen and I wondered if the glass had been reversed in an effort to make up the difference in space. I've used the reading fresnels...
While working on my crown I noticed that the GG seems to be mounted backwards with the ground side on the outside of the back. This is backward from most cameras and struck me as odd but I didn't...
Thanks again to everyone that chimed in on this thread. I've enjoyed it a lot even though we wandered a bit... :)
I've not had time to do anything to the crown since removing the range and...
That isn't a very tight tolerance application. Get a capacitor that is close and you will be fine. (Stay out of Radio Shack) Find a decent components store and they should be able to point you in the...
I've been playing with the Kodak Latitude for a while now and I've gotten some decent results. I've used a couple of different developers, mostly one shot R09 at 1:200 for six minutes and Dektol at...
Chrome rocker covers don't make it go any faster but fake carbon fiber trim sure does!
cosmetics are just the first round. I restore a lot of cameras so I was wary of tearing this one apart to make it into something else. Removing the rangefinder and the other lumps on the outside was...
tearing further into the camera last night I realized that the Crown was talking to me and made all the decisions for me!
The reason I couldn't get the rangefinder to work was it was missing a...
I have a ford focus that I'm prepping for autocross as we speak. Unfortunately the factory fuel pump is awful and the rear suspension needs a lot of attention but I digress.
I played with the...
I would never put a 302 in an E Type! I'd go for a 429!
One correction, it's a Crown Graphic not a Speed. I figure that doesn't really change the outcome very much though. I'd pretty much made up my mind that I was going to rip into this thing, I just...
Recently a Graphlex Speed Graphic came into my possession. I won it on eBay for the sum of only $61! The lens is not the original, it's from a Polaroid 110 so the scale is way off. I have a 135mm in...
I did it last night to see what happens. I picked up some 8x10 Kodak green sensitive latitude x-ray film to shoot in my 4x5 camera. Since I have so much I figured it would be a fun experiment so I...
I looked at that thread but I couldn't find where anyone had posted any definite results. Doesn't matter anyway, I ordered some yesterday and I'm going to go through testing with a couple different...
Some people will experience a slight vertigo type sensation if they keep their eyes open in complete darkness. Your brain uses multiple inputs to create it's image of the world around you. Fluid in...
I've tried to search the forum but I don't get any results for this specific film. I almost hate to post a link to it since I'm currently back ordered on some Fuji green x-ray film, if people start...
has anyone ever thought of making a positive image this way and mounting it on top of a nice glossy white surface? I read about using Opal Glass for prints, it seems you could do a poor mans version...
I have looked all over and I can't come up with an answer. I just picked up a Omega 4x5 camera and I thought it would be nice to be able to run instant film through it since I'm brand new to large...
Make your own. I've made several now and find that with a bit of work I can produce a finer grind than what I can purchase. The finer grind makes focusing much easier and the screen brighter.
