Only shot a few 4x10s with a splitter back when I had an 8x10.

I bought my first 4x10 camera in 2001. JB built the vertical 4x10 for me in 2005. http://www.jbhphoto.com/vcam/vcams1.htm I find it is a great size for backpacking. If I don't have to go too far for the shot, I'll pull out one of the 8x20 cameras.

Your article on JB building your vertical 4x10 was an inspiration for me to shoot 4x10! JB built a beautiful camera! I wanted to shoot 4x10 horizontal and vertical so the Canham 8x10 with the 4x10 back has worked out perfectly for me, although a little heavy for any serious backpacking.
I use a splitter board on my wehman.

When I shot 8X10 film I never really shot it full frame. I shot a lot of 4X10 though.
