    Many places require a cold water check valve or anti siphon for outside hoses and DR sinks

    Factories too

    I have to sign a paper each year, in this small town, everybody does

    Hot water does not need it, as 'normal' Hot Water heaters prevent by design

    The HASS is a good one


    The problem is backflow to potable sources

    Thanks for the info. In reading some info on the subject from Connecticut's Department of Public Health, it seems like the state of Connecticut requires backflow prevention devices when one is hooked up to a public water system. I have seen those devices around but never knew what they were. We get our water from a pump down in a pipe probably 60 feet underground i.e. private well, so backflow prevention is not required. Public water systems must actually submit a cross connection survey report every year to the state. Actually good info to know...
