I do like many things of this shot if that means any thing.
I like the feet in particular and a more side profile is becoming to this model.
Her shaved body also agrees with her. Whereas on many ocassion I find a nice well kept garden offers
Deep blacks that only help balance the overall light colored tones of the flesh.
The motly coloured back drop only reinforces the studio setting. And works in this photo.
Although my initial response to these has always been questionable. But what do you do. You must use something.
And we can't always create a custom background.
I think the lighting is quite masterly. And much better than franks

May I ask what sort of developer you are using Ustas
I ask as I have started using rodinal but people say that it puts grain on toast!

Particular this shot was taken on 8x10 HP5 400 rated 100. Developed in D-76 1+2 11min.30sec. (as i remember)
I have not bad experience with Xtol and found it very usable, especially for T-grain film.
As i more interesting in shooting portraits, haven`t tried Rodinal yet.

Beautiful picture was the vignetting a result of lighting, printing or of the lens.

I agree with Jay.

I sure wish more people would tell me what they think when I post photos, good or bad. Actually, especially bad, as that's what helps us get better, meaningful critique from others in our field.

I certainly didn't get several degrees in music without various professors, friends, and amateurs alike telling me what they thought of my playing.

I agree, Bryan, and I also concur with CosmicExplosion's complaint about strings of 'attaboys' that don't really feel sincere.

I know that it is risky to post nudes. Too many people look at them with a point of view from the seamier side. I enjoy photographing the nude, but not for the prurient interest that many viewers have. Sometimes, Ustas, we have to put up with the snide and jeering remarks.

To me the undraped nude conveys a sense of grace and tranquility. There is a dichotomy of a woman's confidence to expose her vulnerability. Figure studies are an interesting adjunct to fine art photography. Light and shadow are used to emphasize the curves of the female form. Whether in color or black and white, shape and form must fit the environment.

Here is an older image that I don't believe I have posted before. The film is Kodak HSI with a Linhof IV and Schneider 135mm.
