I have to agree...I would not be disappointed. You were able to capture great detail in the face and veining in the marble pillars. Look at some of Bruce Barnbaum's cathedral photos and see if that was the "look" you were going for.
Nice shot Brian. I haven't been to Callaway in 35 years.
Thanks. Hopefully I can get back and shoot there some more.
I read his book last year and it's definitely inspiring work. Would like some more fantastic churches to work with .
Thanks Bryan. The scan is very bright so the statue can be made brighter quite easy. A lot of contrast adjustments were done in CS5.

Thanks Kirk! I am pretty critical of my own work. I just wish the pillars had more shape from some better lighting perhaps.
I don't mind at all and I usually post them on another forum. It's always a bit tricky since some people don't look at post processing in a good light. I can get you the original of that image when I get home. Here is the straight raw scan of my previous church image (should work, I can't see imageshack at work):

I am trying to work more with masked curves adjustment layers versus the dodge and burn tool in CS5. The straight scan of the one you are asking for is pretty much the same. Very light and flat.

If you believe you can, or you believe you can't... you're right.
