ElRooster, That is very nice of you to say. I appreciate it more than I can say.
As far as the technical stuff goes, I made this picture with my Deardorff on 5x7 Tri-X. The lens was an old Goertz Dagor 6". I didn't use a filter. Development was normal. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure of the developer used; lately I've been sending my negatives to Edgar Praus http://www.4photolab.com/index.html for development. I don't have a traditional darkroom anymore, and honestly, I prefer letting someone else handle that step (the sacrilege! ). I scanned the negative into my computer with an Epson 4990. To try and get it to 'pop' a bit more (the light was pretty flat), I played with the levels some (raising the highlights and dropping down the midtones), and then did a lot of burning in the areas between the main roots. The tone is a fill layer. I have a list of colors that I like-sometimes I mix up a little of this and a little of that for something 'in-between.' And that's about it. I mean, besides the voodoo... Ha ha.
Thanks again.
Austin
And Tyler, thanks again.
