It's been ages since I've taken the Crown Graphic out. Been focused on our coffee (which is being served at Demitasse in Little Tokyo this month) too much and haven't had much time to shoot. But we did take a little trip to Laughlin a couple of weeks ago, all Provia 100.

What an interesting place Roy's is! At one time it was a hangout for Hollywood types. Harrison Ford was there goofing off one day working the counter taking orders and serving the coffee and none of the customers recognized him. It's rumored that Johnny Carson had the antenna built when he heard that Amboy couldn't receive his show. A scene from the mid 90's movie Kalifornia was filmed at Roy's.

Ha, awesome, I hadn't heard the Johnny Carson story. I've been stopping by Amboy ever since my family camped near the crater in 1978.

Thanks Lachlan and mdm! I basically got the Shanghai film to use as a low cost first box, but it seems to be quite ok stuff to me. The only thing is that for my processing method anyway I seem to have to rate the film at EI 25 or less. That's using the taco method in a rollfilm dev tank and the times for D76 and X-tol on the massive dev chart. On one of my early shots I metered for EI 100 but forgot to stop the lens down (metered for f/16 but shot at f/4.7), that shot wasn't blown out and seemed to have a better range of densities than the other sheets it was developed with.

Anyway, now I have a 50 sheet box of tmax-400
