I saw an exhibit at the Getty. His work IS stunning and well worth the trip.
I was actually logging in to post the same, Merg. Stunning indeed.
Man, he was great! I have seen a few in person and the work is stunning.
His work was, indeed, special.
Being in a profession that uses aerial photography, I've seen a lot of it over the past
30+ years.
It was really refreshing to find his work and see an artistic flair applied to the practice.
I have a couple of his books - it's a shame that they seem to be out of print now.
I've seen other "artistic" aerial work of late that is rather mundane ( not to mention of mediocre print quality ), and lacks his keen sense of balance and composition.
Thanks for the notice Merg - If I'm in the City while it's still up I'll definitely check
it out.
Regards,
Terry
Merg, amazing images. I mean wow!

Thanks for the kind words. Dad would be proud. I'm planning to go see the exhibit soon.
Great work, I have been a fan since the late 50's.
Thanks,

Bill, glad you checked in. I thought you might be lurking out there.
My first memory of your dad was in the early 1950's when he buzzed Brett and Cole Weston's houses on their Garrapata Canyon property.
I saw him over the years and will always remember his stellar exhibit at the Elliot Gallery in S.F. in 1979 or 80.
Terrific work, a real inspiration!
Cheers,
Merg
