Hi to all, I need to know what kind of roll film back I can use on my Chamonix.
Can I mount the Shen Hao roll film back ?
What is the difference between Graflok and Graflex back ?
Thank you in advance

Any but the original 45n-1 i had was very sloppy in holding it firmly. I had to add shims to my shenhao back in order to keep it firmly against the camera back. It wouldnt hold a 545i back in place without getting light leaks more often than not. I'm now using the 45n-2 which has much tighter tolerances on the film back opening and graflock tabs.

Why not a Calumet C2n?
I use a Horseman 6x12 on mine. Not sure about the Shen Hao.
ANY Graflock-type roll film back can be used with the Chamonix.
Here are the differences between Graflok, Graphic, and Graflex backs.

I have yet to soup the two test rolls I did in my new to me Horseman 6x12 back but I already have concerns regarding how it sits in the camera's back. It seems as though the back will not sit entirely flush with the camera back due to part of the wood blocking the second and taller baffle on the Horseman back. I am suspecting light leaks to be on my film because of this even though I did indeed bring the keepers to full extended position. I am also concerned about focus inaccuracies due to one end being higher than the other which on average seems to be about .5mm. The Shen-Hao / Da-Yi Backs only have one baffle which seems to do the trick and my 4x5 holder's second baffle is about half as tall as the Horseman so it clears with no issue.
I will add some photos and then go run this film. Any comments or experience would be appreciated as I shoot 6x12 on this camera about 1/3rd to 1/2 the time.

OK, film came out fine, no trace of a light leak as far as I can see.
I am still puzzled by this though, precision can be a make or break card in this game....
if you decide to keep the horseman back, maybe just have the second baffle machined off and repainted.
