RM, couldn't agree more, great shot!
RM, I like both images!
I'm not completely happy with this, for several reasons. The grass in the foreground is a little dead, I prefer clouds in my landscape shots, the snow on the mountain peaks is blown out and I kind of wish I could have been a little higher up and get more lake between the foreground and the mountains. In fact I would have preferred to have used the 210 instead of the 90mm, but my auto aperture shutter was broken so I had Hobson's Choice.
Nevertheless, the peace and joy of sitting in this ridiculously beautiful place came back to me when I saw this, so it has emotional impact on at least one person.
This is on the south western edge of Lake Tekapo on the South Island of New Zealand:
Sinar, Ektachrome100, 90mmSA.
I did the E6 myself, maybe that caused the blown out peaks.
It could be because, you as the photographer, see something in the image that isn't there. In other words, you have the memory of being in the location, and remembring the experiences you felt while there.
Unfortunately, for me, I find the rock in the foreground distracting. I do like the reflection in the water and I feel like the image would have been a real winner without the rock.
