I'm going to start mixing my own paper developer and I need a scale to measure up to 200 grams. The cheapest one I've found is on B&H for around $90. Anyone got any suggestions on a cheaper one? Thanks

look in the local 'herbal' shop for electric scales for measuring jewellery/drugs on. The second hand shop I used to work in sold them new for £30, and they went up to 500g I think
ePay, of course! Try a search on "myweigh" or Seller name "oldwillknott". They have a variety of digiscales. I have purchesed several from the same vendor over the years for DR, coffee roastring and beer brewing. They are all still working perfectly. Cheap, quick shipping!

i picked up an ohaus triple beam (610g x 0.1g) for ~$35 on ebay.

I use a Toyo 250 pocket scale, which cost around $40 when I bought it. This is fine for mixing most developers in small batches. If I need to measure more than 250g, which is the capacity of the scale, I measure in two batches. If you have to mix large batches or mix your own fixer on a regular basis, then you might want a scale with a 500g or 1 kg capacity. It's even better to have both, because scales with larger capacity usually have less precision.
Avoid the really cheap ones at the local "herbal" shops unless you can test them in different ranges with standard weights, because they tend to be non-linear.
I have three scales: an old apothecary scale; a school scale from a flea market, with a set of weights bought at the local kitchen supply place; and a very accurate scale used for weighing gunpowder.
I haven't used used a scale for years. I have a dog eared chart which converts gram weight for known chemicals into measuring spoons. For really small amounts of chemistry, I make up 10 o/o solutions. Works for me.
any kitchen store should have reasonable priced scales. electric scales are good cos you can zerioze with a mixing jug on the scales and then just add chemicals.
google "salter scales" but they may only be UK, not sure about that.
I actually got a good digital one for around $40 dollars at a tobacco shop, works great and its accurate.
as mentioned earlier in this thread your local bong and "hemp accessories" shop is probably by far your best and easiest bet....
