Bodie, Windows Through Time/Pathways of Light

I'm having a solo show at Light-Box Photographic gallery in Astoria Oregon August 9, 2025 through September 10, 2025. The show is from 4-7PM and I'm having a discussion about the two bodies of work Starting at 3PM. I do hope that those of you in the PNW can come to see 12 14x17 and 10 8x10 carbon transfer prints from the original film negatives. 22 prints in total. A great opportunity to see many carbon transfer prints in one setting.

I'll have my handmade 14x17 camera at the opening and some interesting announcements as well. I hope some of you in the area can join me.

    Thanks.

    Jim, congratulations!

For anyone interested I really encourage you to attend. I’ve been to several of Jim’s shows and own several prints (the risk of attending a show) and both the shows I attended were outstanding as are the prints. I’ll also add that there’s nothing like viewing a carbon transfer print in person, the internet just doesn’t do them justice. I probably wouldn’t make this show since we are living in Flagstaff, but you never know.

Philip, thank you. Roger, thank you for your continued support and wonderful comments. This show will be special for sure and seeing an original carbon print in a gallery the way anyone's work should be seen.

I hope to head up that before it closes. Looking forward to seeing them!

Vaughn, I'm sure you will recognize many of the images. You were with me when I shot some of them.

Congrats Jim...and I'll second the opinion voiced above regarding how truly essential it is to view carbon prints in the flesh! And once again, I'm sad that I won't get to see this showing as its a bit of a stretch for me to get out to your neck of the woods.

John, thanks. To photographers on the east coast and especially near New York and New Jersey, I'm represented by Gallery 270 in Westwood New Jersey. If you happen to stop in ask Tom the owner to see some of my work. I'm sure he and his staff will accommodate you.

Congrats Jim. I know first hand the enormity of the task at hand both in the field and in the darkroom and applaud your vitality and vision in producing this highly unique body of work. Can't wait to see these prints.
