Has the sun lost a stop?![]()
My old mentor practiced Sunny 11 at full box speed. Instead of metering at box speed minus a stop that we tend to do with our personal EI. I never understood why people would buy a 400 speed film then overexpose it by treating as 320 or 200. The purpose of faster film was to get faster shutter speeds. You compensate in the development. I think sensiometry is part of the reason.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Surely any commercial lab will have densitometry equipment and, for a suitable fee, could be persuaded to do the work?
Also the sunny11 versus sunny16 question does pretty much depend on what your longitude is. Plus weather of course -- when I moved to NL I was told that it only rained four times a year, which was worrying until the next piece of information was that each rainy occasion lasted twelve weeks.
