I've recently read of another forum with the same issues, one that caters to collectors of laserdiscs. They have apparently banned 1 million IP addresses to help slow botnet traffic. Not sure if it's related but thought it was interesting to see similar issues at multiple forums, including DPR mentioned above.

While individual website owners can block IP addresses and domains themselves, it is extremely difficult to keep up with all the bad IPs/Domains out there, so generally speaking it is much better to subscribe to a service such as Akamai or Cloudflare, which does cost some $$. I'm willing to pay something to keep the site protected...

I've also been experiencing off and on loading problems; i'd say more off than on.

I’m totally screwed, besides problems with the forum be sluggish, my internet has been super slow. Especially download speeds.

Not only the loading is sluggish, but the opening the flowed threads by the links which are mailed are even more hard to open, not to mention the uploading of attachments which is sometimes nearly impossible.

On slow, very slowdays, I just forget about reading LFPF, and go to other photography forums.

Site today takes about 10 seconds to load anything after a click, with a few "Site not found" popups that resolve with a click and another 10 seconds. Good luck to you folks and hope you can figure out a solution.

For me, this problem has never fully gone away - it is rare that I do not experience severe loading lag any/every day.
