    Zebra Daylight Tanks 4x5 5x7 8x10 + adapters

probably of most interest for us in Europe, as this is from people aware of a diversity of format and for practicalities, low shipping cost and no extra customs fees if inside EU-zone,.

this a project of Necj Urankar from Ljubljana, who among other places, has mostly been present on a Youtube channel, "Lost Light Art" since 2019.
Has started a project for tanks in sizes 4x5, 5x7, 8x10, and this is important, with an add-ons system for other formats from 2¼ x 3¼ to 6½ x 8½ (whole plate) (9x12, half-plate, 13x18, 18x24), designed to take film, paper or plates. He has previously designed a plate adapter for the Stearman SP-445 and his tank design is clearly inspired from the Stearman. Screenshot from the presentation video:

there is a Kickstarter campaign: Zebra Daylight Tank: Processing Large Format Film Made Easy

I have pledged for a 5x7 tank and half-plate addons.

That looks interesting, especially the option to develop 4 times 8x10 sheets appeals to me.

The cheapest "early bird" 8x10 at 125€ was already gone when I ordered the "early bird" 5x7. Did you see the thread started on Großformatfotografie Kickstarter Zebra Daylight Tank, with at least one of the participants mentioning he ordered a 8x10 tank. I will look there for first feedbacks about the 8x10.

One comment is about how much it may differ from the former now defunct Stearman tank SP-2810 project that was cancelled years ago, because it didn't reach funding but also prototypes were prone to leaks and as per designer uneasy to handle: In conversation with: Tim Gilbert of Stearman Press. But Necj Urankar design is different, simplier. The other question is about long term reliability of printed plastic vs molded. These Zebra tanks are PETG printed, high specs PETG can hold a lot but is anyway less resistant than molded, so we'll have to see with use.

I suppose for a quick test shot. 3D printing is Slow compared to molding and thermoforming. I would also be concerned about warping??

    I hope it works out.
