Replacement groundglass for Arca Swiss type B Oschwald- what dimensions?

Hi all, and greetings from Cork.

I have an Arca Swiss Oschwald type B 4x5 camera on the way, lacking groundglass and I wondered if any owners of this camera could tell me the dimensions for the groundglass.

The camera will take about 10-14 days to get here, and it would be great to get the glass ordered in advance.

    Thanks D.

I have two backs from earlier Arca Swiss days and have measured the glass in both for you. As it fits into a recess you will certainly need to be careful that it is not oversize and so won't fit into this recess. My measurements suggest 100mm x 123.5~124mm should be ok. One is marginally bigger than the other (by 0.5mm) and this sizing allows for a little bit of 'gap' around the glass (perhaps 0.5mm) which appears to be a tolerance to allow for fitting the glass in, moving it to the centre marginally and then tightening the clamps which hold it in place. To be really sure you probably need to measure the recess but this will actually only give you a maximm size and I've actually measured the glass with a good calliper. I have a few spares so if you need anything let me know, just in case.

Thanks very much for doing that, I really appreciate it. I'll double check the opening when the camera arrives and get back to you, cheers, Damian
