Hi all,
I'm trying to (somewhat) restore this semi-centennial stand (there's a 10A to go on top of it). It's more of a functional restoration than an aesthetic one as it's seen some hard use and I'm not trying to make it look new.
There are two big issues. First, the rack gears that are used to raise and lower the bed are in very poor shape. Parts have broken off and many of the teeth are chewed up. I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a source for these. They look like 12 pitch, 5/8 wide but I can't find anything like that online. I could probably get them machined but it would cost an arm and a leg.
Second, I'm missing the rod and the handle that tilt the bed. I have the two end cast end pieces and the threaded part on the end of the support leg. I have a vague memory of someone getting one of these machined but can't find it now.
The rest of it is more or less functional. I could MacGuyver something for the bed but the racks seem like a headache.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
