My wife and I just returned from ten days in Wales and had a wonderful time and perfect weather. Before we left I discovered a Welsh photographer, Pete Davis, on YouTube. I admire his work -- and he's done a lot -- the Tin Sheds and landscapes and even street photography from the seventies in Cardiff -- anyway, because of one of his books we took a day hike up Cader Idris -- a walk for my wife, but more like a stress test for me -- probably my favorite hike ever. I did not take large format -- but imagined Pete traveling up there with his 8x10 and tripod so many times.

Aside from the landscapes, the people we met were some of the friendliest and nicest folks -- very engaging.

Have a great trip.
