Welcome from Iowa City Iowa!!
I visit Halifax most summers. It's on the way to the overnight ferry to Port aux Basques, which I take to get to a summer home in Newfoundland. I usually bring along a large format camera, but I'm inclined to bring just an iPhone 15 and an audio recorder this year. Cool that you're originally from Uruguay. There's a large Uruguayan population in my part of New York, and restaurants to match. Asado on the beach at 38:20:

Yup, Uruguay. I don't eat much red meat anymore for Uruguayan standards :-)
Don't leave your large format camera behind. NL is gorgeous, but of course I don't have to tell you this.
Last time I was in Halifax was September of 1968 on a trip from Boston to Newfoundland. Had a brand new Porsche 911 - just the right thing for the then mostly dirt roads we found ourselves on. I remember that the guys on the ferry had no idea how to tie the car down - no frame to attach to. The 911 series was pretty new and most folks had never seen one. I remember staying in Corner Brook a couple of nights and driving out in the morning Stopped for gas on the way back in the evening and the young guy working the pumps said he'd seen us drive out in the morning and had no idea what kid of car it was. No LF at the time - a couple of years later the Porsche was stolen and I used part of the insurance to buy my first LF camera - a 5 x Linhof Kardan Bi - still have it. Only camera I had was a Rollei 35. Still use it.
