For use on my Speed Graphic 4x5. I need to buy a lens board, and have the option of standard (flat) or about 30mm extension “nose” on it. Thoughts?

300mm Tele-Xenar is a focal length I haven't seen often. Good Luck with it

A 300mm telephoto lens will (by definition) have a bellows draw shorter than 300mm when focused at infinity. So a standard board should work.
A top-hat board would make swing and tilt movements even more complicated- but a Speed has few of those, so would be ok as well. That will let you focus closer too, never a bad idea.
If the information in this https://www.largeformatphotography.i.../t-150304.html discussion is correct, the lens' flange-focal distance as 170 mm. It should work perfectly well on a flat board on a 4x5 Speed Graphic
And best of luck with your treatment. Hospitals are no fun.
